OPPO A53 5G: Features, Reviews, and Price

Tags: oppo camera

Manufacturers are taking advantage of the last pull of the year to reinforce their mid-range, by taking the lead in 5G. In this sense, not long ago, the Oppo announced the new Reno5, but today’s OPPO completes the A series with an option with this connectivity: the new OPPO A53 5G.

A mobile that takes over from the OPPO A52, which arrived in the market a few months ago as a relatively modest 4G option in its catalog, and more directly from the OPPO A53 in its 4G version. The new A53 5G represents an alternative rather than an evolution, once again offering a basic option within the manufacturer’s mid-range.

Basic features including 90 Hz and FullHD+ on screen

Although the aesthetic patterns are maintained, the design of the OPPO A53 5G shows slight changes from the A52, A53, and OPPO A53s. Starting with the Camera module: we no longer see the dominoes rectangle, but a square and this is related to the difference in the number of cameras that we will see later. The back is equally in brightness and the fingerprint reader is on the side, but the reflection and gradient are different (especially in the purple color).

The front does keep all its DNA with the camera sticking out of a hole in the left corner and thinner frames on the sides and top than on the bottom. These frames surround a 6.5-inch flat IPS panel with FullHD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate, something (resolution and maximum refresh rate) that is not very common in a basic midrange.

A 5G Network

At the heart of this new mobile, we see MediaTek’s Dimensity 720, with two versions in terms of memory: 4 and 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage. This chip integrates the 5G modem that supports the 5G both NSA and SA.

The battery integrated into the A53 5G is 4,040 mAh, a lower capacity than the one we saw in the A52 and A53 4G. The maximum power of the fast charge is also reduced, being in this case 10W (when compared to 18W). Also, it has an audio mini-jack.

At the photography level, the OPPO A53 5G retains three rear cameras like the A53 and not four as in the A52. Although this is not something negative per se, since it maintains the standard combination we see in less demanding mobiles and simply ignores the monochrome sensor. This is how all the cameras of the A53 5G remain:

  • Main: 16-megapixel sensor
  • Macro: 2-megapixel sensor
  • Portrait: 2 megapixels.
  • Front: 8-megapixel sensor.

Versions and prices of the OPPO A53 5G

The new OPPO A53 5G has been presented in China and will be available in its two configurations from 1,299 yuan, about $198 at the exchange rate, for the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB. Of the 6 GB and 128 GB have not said the starting price.

The pre-order will begin on December 21 and will be available in black, purple, and blue.
