Hello The Tesla Steampunk Watch!

The Tesla watch takes your retro-steampunk aesthetic to the next level. With an aged-brass appearance on the casing, this analog watch comes with a rubber-stamped strap. The unique features of this style, though, are its two faux vacuum tube lamps with red LED’s in that you simply flip them on and off by the press of a button.

The watch battery is also reminiscent of that of the original Tesla electric motor, which was not a long-lived thing but was quite powerful for its time. If you have ever seen the movie “The Man Who Invented the World”, you will understand what I’m talking about. I’m not sure why this watch was designed as such, but it’s a shame that we won’t get to use its amazing features.

The Tesla watch includes five dials that feature a date, time and another red LED. The second hand moves through seven divisions and has a second time zone indicator. The face is etched with the words “TESLA”STEAMER” and includes a crown with an engraving of the “T” logo. The leather strap is quite nice and I like that there are two strap holes.

The watch comes with a booklet that tells the story of how the creation of the Tesla watch happened. It includes a short description of the founder and explains what a Tesla is, how the invention works and what it can do for us. The manual provides a step-by-step guide on how to set up the watch and read the time. It also provides a brief history of electricity and how it was harnessed by Nikola Tesla.

I do like that there is a stainless steel band that can be easily removed from the watch without destroying the watch and I love that the watch is water-resistant. The dial faces can be set at 12 o’clock, which I appreciate. It also has one more red LED than some other watches.

Features:

One of the coolest features of the Tesla watch is the ability to switch between the two modes of illumination, which come in blue or red. It is so much fun to see these bulbs blinking away at night and to know that my watch is powered by electricity instead of regular battery life! The watch also comes with an “energy mode”, which is a very cool feature that allows you to use your own body heat as energy for the hands, which are really warm to the touch.

The watch has a stopwatch function as well as an alarm. The backlight comes on after it gets dark and then you just need to set the time.

I think that this watch does the job, but I have no doubt that it’s going to be one of those watches that will be talked about for many years. Also feel like it’s a great novelty. I love that this particular style is not as expensive as most watches, but I would like to see it come with a more modern design and replace the dial with a more contemporary design.

There are some reviews online that have a lot of bad things to say about the Tesla watch. But that seems to be a general opinion and may not actually reflect the truth. I would like to see more positive comments.

This watch does not seem like a watch that I want to be wearing all day. But, the thing is, I’m not going to get one. It will be something that I will only wear when I am at home. So I might have to be happy with it’s functionality and its lightening ability.

I’m not too concerned about the price since I don’t plan to replace it often. But if I am going to buy one, it will most likely be a more expensive one. Which is why I’m not buying it as a gift. The price of the watch seems reasonable for what it does. But I am not impressed with the styling. Even if I can see a lot of features, I’m not sure how well I could care for it.

So, I guess I’ll leave it to you. You decide whether to buy it or not. If you do buy it, make sure you like it, if you don’t, go back to the drawing board.
