Apple has launched new Macbook Pro models in its Unleashed Event on 18th October. These new MacBook Pro Models are based on company’s new silicon chip named, M1 Pro and M1 Max. Apple’s New MacBook Pro Launched with M1 Pro and M1 Max Silicon but Should you really Buy it and for whom it is made?


The new MacBook Pro 2021 Series with M1 Pro and M1 Mac Chip comes in two display options of 14-inch and 16-inch. Apple has also changed its new design and Notch in the display which provides more screen and reduces bezels but what’s more beautiful is the offering it is providing to consumers.

The new MacBook Pro 2021 Series is claimed to deliver up to 3.7 times faster performance over Intel’s Core i7 available on the existing 13-inch MacBook Pro. The new M1 Pro and M1 Max come as upgrades to the M1 chip in which the M1 Max is more powerful.

Display

Apple claims that the 14-inch MacBook Pro model gives 14.2-inch active screen area with a total of 5.9 million pixels while the 16-inch model has 16.2-inch screen area with 7.7 million pixels.

There is a Liquid Retina XDR display that uses the mini-LED technology which was previously available on the iPad Pro. There is also an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz using Apple’s proprietary ProMotion technology.

The display has up to 1,000 nits of brightness, 1,600 nits of peak brightness, and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The displays further have P3 wide colour gamut and HDR support.

The MacBook Pro 2021 Models comes with an all-new design that removed the Touch Bar above the keyboard and brings back an SDXC card slot as well as an HDMI port.

The other major change in the designing front is the additional of a notch that helps in reducing bezels and provides more screen to users, alongside offers a 1080P FaceTime HD webcam in the notch.

However, Apple has not provided Face ID, which is unlike its top-end iPhone models that have a notch to accommodate the facial recognition technology.

M1 Pro and M1 Max SoC

The new MacBook Pro Series is powered by the upgraded silicon chips that comes in two versions – M1 Pro and M1 Max.

The M1 Pro chip includes up to 10-core CPU with 8 high-performance cores and 2 low-performance cores, along with up to 16-core GPU.

Apple claims that the new chip is capable of delivering up to 70% faster CPU performance and up to 2 times faster GPU performance over the existing M1 chip. The M1 Pro also includes a ProRes accelerator in the media engine to enhance on-device video processing.

On the other hand, the M1 Max is claimed to be the world’s most powerful chip. It has the same 10-core CPU as M1 Pro, but doubles the GPU with up to 32 cores for up to 4 times faster GPU performance than M1.

There is also up to 400GB per second of memory bandwidth, which is two times that of M1 Pro and nearly 6 times that of M1. Apple has also provided up to 64GB of unified memory.

To recall, last year’s M1 chip came with 4 high-performance and 4 low-performance cores as well as included up to 8 graphics cores.

Apple claims that using the M1 Max chip, professionals can edit up to 30 streams of 4K ProRes video or up to seven streams of 8K ProRes video in Final Cut Pro, more streams than on a 28-core Mac Pro with Afterburner.

Both M1 Pro and M1 are also paired with a 16-core Neural Engine that helps enhance machine learning capabilities on the new MacBook Pro models.

Other Features

The new MacBook Pro models also come with a Magic Keyboard that replaces the earlier Touch Bar with physical function keys and a wider escape key. You will also get the Force Touch trackpad.

Apple has offered its macOS Monterey out-of-the-box on the new MacBook Pro models. Apple said the, the new operating system is optimised for the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The new macOS version will also be available for older machines as a free software update on 25th October.

The new Apple MacBook Pro models also bring back the earlier MagSafe magnetic charging support, with MagSafe 3. This is unlike the existing MacBook Pro models that offer charging through USB-C. However, users can still use Thunderbolt 4 for charging via a USB Type-C cable.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.0 and Wi-Fi 6. Users can also connect up to three Pro Display XDRs and a 4K TV simultaneously on the MacBook Pro based on M1 Max. The M1 Pro chip, on the other hand, supports up to two Pro Display XDRs at once.

The new MacBook Pro models comes with six-speaker sound system that has two tweeters and four force-cancelling woofers. There is also Dolby Atmos and spatial audio support for a surround sound experience while on-the-go.

Apple has provided a better thermal management on the MacBook Pro models. The company claims that there is an advanced thermal system that can move 50% more air than the previous generation, even at lower fan speeds.

When it comes to battery, the 14-inch MacBook Pro delivers up to 17 hours of video playback on a single charge, while 16-inch can delivers up to 21 hours of video playback.

Price and Availability in India

The 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro (2021) price starts at Rs 1,94,900 that has 8-core CPU, 14-Core GPU, and 512GB SSD Storage while the 10-Core CPU, 16-Core GPU, and 1TB SSD Storage costs Rs 2,39,990.

The 16-inch price starts at Rs 2,39,900 for 10-Core CPU, 16-Core GPU, and 512GB SSD Storage while the 10-Core CPU, 16-Core GPU, and 1TB SSD Storage costs Rs 2,59,900.

However, the higher variant of 16-inch that only has M1 Max chip with 10-Core CPU, 32-Core GPU, and 1TB Storage costs Rs 3,29,900.

The new MacBook Pro models will be available for purchase starting from 26th October on Apple India Online Store.

Should you Buy Apple M1 MackBook 2021?

It is a self take, there’s no doubt Apple has taken a big leap over the specs and board tech that they have built with a powerhouse strong solid provider of performance and built if you wanna be under the Apple Ecosystem and can manage to bear Thousands of $ or Lakh of Rupees so it can be a good choice for you but this is not powerful compared to High-End Windows Laptops or Machine as under this budget you can claim a whole Strong Lineup that might provide you a little more to your pocket.

You can get Alienware, MSI, Razer Blade or even high-end GPU & CPU Specs with RGB, more Ports which even work our of Apple Environment, it’s not like it isn’t crazy but for a person looking for Gaming purposes to Stream, Game, Develop, Design or an all and all housing you cant do it here as it will be able to hold Games but AAA 2021 Titles might lag at 4K here, otherwise its a Deal Breaker in every sense Apple could bring to hands (also not to say, but Most Powerful Mac ever made!).
