According to a screenshot posted on Weibo by a blogger, Huawei is about to launch a new smartwatch code-named “STIA”. Observers believe the gadget will enter the commercial market under the name Mate Watch. There is a placeholder image that shows that the watch has a round dial like other Huawei smartwatches.

Besides the Huawei STIA smartwatch, the screenshot also shows a smart band codenamed “FDS”. This smart band may be the successor to Huawei Band 4 / Band 4 Pro. This device will be equipped with a rectangular screen and a round navigation button. Users will be able to track the distance traveled, the number of calories burned, etc.

The Mate Watch is expected to be released alongside Mate 40 series in the third quarter of the year. A rumor we heard last week that Mate Watch may be running HarmonyOS instead of the custom operating system available on the Huawei Watch GT and Watch GT2. If the smart band is the Huawei Band 5, it may start in the fourth quarter of the year.
