How to Complete the Heretic Quest

Search Abandoned Ruins for Survivors 

Once the quest is active, you’ll see an objective location circled on your map. These are the Abandoned Ruins northeast of your current location. Head for them after activating the Zarbinzet Waypoint. Upon reaching the ruins, you’ll see a survivor attempting to fight off some demons. Help her.

Kill the Demons

Kill the horde of demons in the Abandoned Ruins. You’ll see some Ashen Figures resembling crispy humans. Interact with them. They will crumble at your touch. 

Next, try to approach the surviving girl. Frightened, she will accuse you of being a demon and run off to the west. 

Speak with Frightened Girl

The frightened girl runs to a tree across the entrance. Her name is Aneta. Talk to her to assure her you’re not a demon and aren’t going to hurt her.  

Aneta is afraid of the demons in the area. But unwilling to return until she completes her task from her sick mother. To accompany her back, you must help her collect three plants. She will follow you.

Help Aneta Gather 3 Flowers

The Singed Plant is the first plant you need to find. All three plants are within a blue search region you’re already inside. Once you’re close to a flower, Aneta will say so and reach it ahead of you.

Keep exploring the area for your second plant, the Dying Plant. Interact with it to get the Dying Rose. Then fight some enemies. You’ll get the Withered Plant after beating them. Interact with it to get the Withered Delphinium. 

Escort Aneta to Zarbinzet

Aneta is finally happy and grateful. Now you just need to escort her back to her mother’s home in Zarbinzet. You can backtrack there. Or you can fast travel using waypoints. Aneta follows you either way. 

Speak with Aneta

Watch Aneta interact with her mother. You’ll find she’s not really popular around town. Remind her to not forget her flowers.

Find Aneta

The villagers chase Aneta out to the southeast. Enter the Forgotten Cave in the Fallow Tillage. Follow the main path there to find Aneta cornered by Vass and his friends.

Aneta releases a burst of energy, turning Vass’ friends into ash and summoning some demons. But Vass runs away. 

Speak with Aneta Again

Once you save Aneta from the villagers and demons, approach her and ask if she’s alright. She runs away sobbing, and this completes the quest. As a reward, you get 3600 Gold, 58,800 XP, and 20 Hawezar Renown.
