Dead By Daylight Alien Crossover Launches August 29, Comes With Ellen Ripley Survivor

On paper, the collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Alien seems like a heavenly match. Or perhaps a hellish one, especially if you find yourself playing as a survivor trying to outrun a deadly Xenomorph. Developer Behaviour Interactive had previously announced an upcoming event featuring this formidable cosmic predator, and now we have an official release date: August 29. To get a taste of what’s to come, check out the exciting new trailer below, showcasing the chilling Nostromo map. This derelict spaceship setting, complete with copious amounts of Xenomorph drool and an empowered Ellen Ripley struggling to survive, confirms that this event is truly Alien-themed.

Behaviour Interactive has also shared some additional details about the Xenomorph and Ripley. The Xenomorph’s abilities include “Hidden Pursuit,” which allows it to access control stations, navigate hidden tunnels, and locate survivors. “Runner Mode” enables the Xenomorph to move quickly and quietly, except during cooldown periods that can be activated by using tunnels. As for perks, the Xenomorph possesses killer abilities such as “Ultimate Weapon,” which reveals the positions of survivors who enter its terror radius, and “Rapid Brutality,” which grants a hastened state after hitting a survivor with a basic attack. Another killer ability, “Alien Instinct,” allows the Xenomorph to see the farthest injured survivor’s aura for a short time after hooking a survivor.

On the other hand, Ripley has various perks that highlight her cunning and ingenuity, enabling her to evade the Xenomorph. “Lucky Star” conceals Ripley’s position when hiding in a locker and grants temporary visibility of other survivors and the closest generator’s aura upon exit. “Chemical Trap” can be activated by completing progress on a generator, placing a trap near a pallet. When activated, the trap explodes and slows down the killer who breaks the pallet. Lastly, “Light Footed” muffles Ripley’s running footsteps when healthy, making it easier for her to maintain stealth.

Aside from this exciting crossover event, Behaviour Interactive has also revealed that the Dead by Daylight franchise is expanding with two new games. One is a narrative-driven venture developed by Supermassive Games, the creators of Until Dawn. The other is a multiplayer game by Midwinter Entertainment, the developers responsible for Scavengers.
