Were You Able to Spot Every Arnold Schwarzenegger Easter Egg?

If you’re familiar with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s filmography, you know they’re filled with action, adventure, and plenty of one-liners. And his new show on Netflix, Fubar, is no exception. In his first TV role, Schwarzenegger plays a government agent on the verge of retirement who comes to the aid of another agent, only to find out it’s his daughter. Together, they take on Boro Polonia, a villain attempting to obtain a briefcase nuke. While FUBAR is full of exciting action and intense adventure, what sets it apart are the numerous nods to Schwarzenegger’s earlier films.

One not-so-subtle reference is to Twins, which starred Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as two long-lost twins finding each other. In FUBAR, after Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger) reunites with his ex-wife, the camera cuts to his grin, reminiscent of a similar scene in Twins. Throughout the series, Brunner continues to say “that’s it, and that’s all,” which he claims is his own phrase, but he eventually admits to stealing it from Throw Mamma From The Train, a movie starring his friend Danny DeVito.

Of course, no Schwarzenegger reference fest would be complete without the infamous “Get to the choppa” line from Predator. FUBAR includes this reference in Episode 2, when Brunner yells it in a high-stress moment. Other easter eggs in the show are more subtle, including case file numbers that reference Schwarzenegger’s iconic roles in films like Kindergarten Cop and The Terminator.

One of the most exciting cameos in FUBAR is Tom Arnold, who appeared alongside Schwarzenegger in the 1994 action film True Lies. In FUBAR, Arnold plays Norm Carlson, an unconventional information extractor who brings a new twist to the role by dressing like an unsuspecting professor. Additionally, Brunner’s cover in the show is as a seller of workout equipment, mirroring Schwarzenegger’s real-life career as a bodybuilder and founder of the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival.

Overall, FUBAR is packed with Easter eggs that make viewers want to revisit Schwarzenegger’s most iconic films. As for Season 2, we can only hope for even more fun nods and maybe even some cameos from other classic action stars.
