Amazon’s Streaming service Prime Video has seemingly overtaken Netflix to grab the top spot of US rankings.
As reported by Deadline, the information comes from research firm Parks Associates, who have adjudged Prime Video as the kings of video streaming in the United States. Following Prime Video and Netflix, Hulu grabs the third spot, with Disney+ and HBO Max taking the fourth and fifth spot, respectively.
It’s unclear how these rankings have been determined due to the lack of statistics revolving around the services, especially Prime Video, which hasn’t been disclosed by the likes of Amazon.

The rise of Prime Video can be attributed to the downfall of Netflix, which has seen a loss of subscribers over the past two years. With increased prices and implementing measures against password sharing, the Netflix user base has seen a slight tumble, even though the platform features some of the most popular TV and film franchises like Stranger Things, Squid Game, Bridgerton, Money Heist, The Witcher, and more.
Furthermore, Prime Video has also picked up the pace with its offerings, which includes The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series, which has a $1 billion budget. In the end, the platform seems to be thriving as one of the benefits to subscribing to Amazon Prime, alongside Prime Gaming and Prime Music.
While Netflix saw a slight uptick in services earlier this year, the platform risks falling off the list even more, with services like Disney+ and HBO Max featuring TV shows and movies based on its famous IPs like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Harry Potter and more, and it’s very likely that the rankings will change again next year.
