PAX East 2024: Digital Extremes Returning to PAX Q&A and Beyond with Megan Everett

Digital Extremes Returning to PAX East Q&A

I started off with the obvious question of: “Digital Extremes has not held a stream at Pax East in years. What was it like returning to the convention this year?”

And Megan gleefully replied with:

It exceeded any expectations we had for ourselves! I always have that paranoia that “no one will show up to my birthday party,” hahaha. But they did! Our hearts are full and the in-person moments we had at our TennoVIP event have reignited our creative fires that we are all taking directly back home with us to share with the rest of our team.

The TennoVIP event was packed to the brim with fans of the game and also featured some amazing moments. Such as the voice of Arthur in Warframe: 1999, Ben Starr, accepting a one-of-a-kind action figure of the character. Ben even made a fun speech of it that opened with: “Thank you for this award, the award for, best Arthur”. As well as Rebecca Ford singing Snake Eater perfectly from memory at the karaoke area, and “What’s Up” by 4 non Blondes. But the highlight of the night was when the entire crowd sang happy birthday to Warframe as a wonderfully decorated 11-year anniversary cake was presented to Soulframe Creative Director Geoff Crookes, Megan, and Creative Director of Warframe Rebecca Ford.

Following up that question, I asked: “What made Digital Extremes decide to return to PAX East this year?”

Megan answered with:

This is looking to very likely be the biggest year for Digital Extremes yet in its 30+ years of existence and we wanted to celebrate Warframe’s 11th birthday in person with everyone. PAX East holds a special place in many of our hearts, as it was one of the few conventions we traveled to back in Warframe’s humble beginnings. We brought a ton of teases for the rest of the year but have even more to share at TennoCon!

TennoCon is sure to bring out the best in both the community and Digital Extremes themselves. As they have announced it will be a two-day event as opposed to one day like most years. With all of the grand reveals happening on the July 20th, and July 19th being dedicated to those who are able to go.

Finally, I was curious to learn about if Digital Extremes would be going to other events, so I asked accordingly: “Outside of TennoCon in July, will Digital Extremes be looking at having a bigger presence at events moving forward? The presentation for the event matched the hype of the reveals during the Devstream.”

And Megan clarified:

We are! But I can’t say where or when just yet. Just know that more opportunities are being planned to give players worldwide a chance to engage with us in person as a community.

But that wraps all of our Q&A’s from PAX East with Digital Extremes. If you would like to read out dedicated Devstream 178 reveals Q&A, you can find it here. With our dedicated Soulframe Fey Pact trailer Q&A here.

Special thank you to Megan Everett, and Geoff Crookes for their time and Digital Extremes for the opportunity!
