Dragon’s Dogma 2 Patch Released for All Platforms

Releasing recently to critical acclaim despite mixed reception from some players, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is getting a new patch. This patch aims to improve lackluster performance across all consoles and add quality-of-life features that were not present at launch.

Results

While performance impressions of the Series X/S versions can’t be found as of this writing, PlayStation 5 sees a slight improvement in the frame rate when Ray Tracing is disabled. For PC players, this update helps but how much it does depends on your rig’s set up.

Considering how CPU-demanding Dragon’s Dogma 2 is, asking for a quick fix for the game’s performance woes is a bit much. But between quality-of-life improvements and the option for console players to cap things at 30FPS, I would argue they should’ve delayed the game. Launch it with the feature set and stability of this latest patch.

Even if the overall experience wouldn’t be completely there, it would still be an improvement regardless. Also worth noting, the patch doesn’t address criticisms surrounding the games Micro-transactions.
