PAX East 2024 has come and gone, but Lords of Gaming was on the floor playing so many hit games and getting exclusive coverage from as many developers as possible. Such as the new Killer Klowns from Outer Space game from Illfonic. We were given the privilege of talking with Jordan Mathewson, the design director on the game and here is our exclusive interview from PAX East!

Exclusive Interview for Killer Klowns from Outer Space
During the interview, our team was able to play multiple matches in the game and Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a very fun experience. It has some gameplay roots in Dead By Daylight as it features survival gameplay against the Clowns. There will be a small but deadly group of clowns trying to capture a bigger group of humans. The humans must try and do certain objectives to avoid the Clownpocalypse. We already have impressions on how the Clown side of the game plays. But I was able to play two matches as a human and enjoyed the experience.
Playing as human in Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a scary experience. Considering you have to look for weapons, and other means of survival. Such as finding ice cream or burgers to restore health lost against the Clowns. When you inevitably do get captured by the Clowns in this cotton candy cocoon. You will be stuck on a hook and either have to wait until the Clown leaves to break free with a sharp weapon or wait for a teammate to free you.
If you cannot be saved, you will eventually die. But it is not game over from there, as you are able to play an array of different carnival style mini-games. Such as popping balloons or shooting hoops. But not only is this a way to still make waiting for the next match fun. It also rewards you with items to give to your still alive teammates to help them have a fighting chance! However, if you’re the last one standing you can also go to revive stations for a full team respawn. There will always be a handful of these that only work once, so you have to make them count.
