Initially discovered by from a Steam store notification, it states the collection was to be delisted on PC. But as of right now, this extended to the game’s console launches as well. Official statements from Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox all mention the game leaving digital storefronts.

The full game of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection” will be discontinued in Japan on the following date: Friday, March 29, 2024 at 0:00 (JST)

Online play will remain available after the end of sales. Also, purchased copies of the full game will be available for re-download from the Steam Store.

Overall Thoughts

This collection is an amazing time capsule, showing the world why the Ninja Turtles were so beloved and still are to this day. And having a proper collection ensures people who want to play these experiences can pay to access them, rather than find other means to play them.

With publishers so against Emulation, the best solution is making it easy as possible for players to access games. In addition, it also puts into question how long licensing deals last for game releases. Remember, this collection released in 2022. It’s barely two years after release and already Konami is delisting the collection.

We will report if this story developers further, but thankfully the game also had a physical release on all platforms as well. So even if it gets delisted in other markets, you can get it physically for preservation’s sake.
