Call of Duty Season 6: The Haunting Revealed

The world of Call of Duty is brimming with news. Fans prepare to welcome Modern Warfare III as an unprecedented sequel. Meanwhile, the developers churn out more updates including new season details as the Tokyo Game Show brings other excitement. Season 6 promises to ring in the Halloween season with a spooky-themed battle pass and the return of The Haunting.

Dive Into Hell

Season 6 contains a plethora of exciting events and cosmetics coming on September 27. Additionally, The Haunting kicks off a takeover of all modes including Warzone, DMZ, and Modern Warfare II multiplayer. Here is the breakdown for each.

Al Mazrah

Operation: Nightmare is a midseason event taking over Warzone’s Al Mazrah map. Furthermore, new activities populate the map along with a taste of horror. Monsters and supernatural NPCs can be found here along with new bounties and activities. Lastly, it is up to you to brave these terrors alongside other players and extract from the AO safely.

Vondead

Vondel receives an undeadly new overlay thanks to The Haunting. Zombies overrun the map leading to new mysteries to solve. Additionally, Demonic Altars eerily litter the map. These altars fuel the rituals and summonings of the undead. Players can investigate these to discover new rewards and places of interest. However, beware of a powerful undead, known as The Butcher, prowling the map.

Zombie Royale

The Haunting brings back a fan-favorite mode: Zombie Royale. This mode throws Battle Royale contenders into a fight for survival against the hordes of the undead. However, the developers bring some new twists this time around.

Players must survive a zombie incursion throughout Al Mazrah or Vondel. Yet, death is not the end. A player respawns as a zombie, with no abilities, upon death instead of entering the Gulag. Chemical syringes litter the battlefield for zombies to collect. These can lead to a new lease on life free from the undead curse. However, being killed as a zombie leads to a full elimination from the match. This game mode has other surprises in store, so lock and lead and survive the night.

Vondead Lockdown

Additionally, Lockdown is returning to Warzone during the midseason event of The Haunting. Teams must capture and hold zones in this Battle Royale variant. Players can drop with their custom loadouts to bring an edge to the battlefield. However, operators drop in the Vondead variant during this event; be wary of what bumps in the night.

Weapons of Horror

The Haunting delivers terrifying weapons to up your arsenal during the event. Zombies killed may leave behind loot boxes shrouded in mystery. Additionally, operators can find Bloodseeker Grenades in the field. These appear as bats and reveal enemies they latch onto with thermal vision. Beware what you find in containers around Al Mazrah or Vondel. These have the chance to unleash a jumpscare for unsuspecting players.

Lastly, DMZ players have things to look forward to as well. All Season 6 updates to Al Mazrah carry over to DMZ. New targets and intel along with supernatural entities prowl the night in DMZ. Strike fast and hunt well.

Season 6 Multiplayer

Season 6 brings spooky updates to Multiplayer. Subsequently, new additions include four new maps(La Casa, Koro Village, King, and Fight), two maps revamped to match The Haunting(El Asilo and Embassy), and horror elements coming to classic modes.

Spawn makes his debut as the headline operator of Season 6. The world born by Todd McFarlane is the perfect complement to The Haunting theme. Meanwhile, V4LERIA acts as the Black Cell exclusive operator. This is a robotic reimagining of Valeria complete with a synthetic voice overlay and unique voice lines.

The Haunting brings even more terror to players in the form of new bundles. Furthermore, they bring new license crossover for operators and weapons. Players can wield a new destructive power against Hell’s minions with the DOOM Tracer pack, become a hunter of the night with the Hellsing bundle, and even join the forces of evil as the Mother of monsters herself with the Lilith bundle. Season 6 contains that and more.

The Final Stretch

The upcoming season marks the last chance for Prestige Ranks in Modern Warfare II before the sequel. As a result, the Rank is increased to 25 with a max level of 1,250. Each Prestige Rank grants rewards upon completion. Players who reach Prestige Rank 25 earn the Militant Operator skin. Lastly, your current Prestige progress will carry over from Season 5 to Season.

Modern Warfare III is quickly approaching. Infinity Ward and Raven Software released a roadmap leading to the launch date of November 10. September 27 kicks off Season 6, one week before Call of Duty Next. This stream should excite fans further on what is to come and also heralds the first beta weekend for Modern Warfare III. Remember to preorder the game to unlock the Zombie Ghost Operator skin.

That concludes everything coming with Season 6, The Haunting, and preparation for Modern Warfare III. You can read the full details of everything, including the upcoming Call of Duty Endowment Bowl, in the official blog post.
