Demeo developer Resolution Games recently shared the first gameplay look for their upcoming game Demeo Battles. Demeo Battles is a PVP-based competitive turn-based strategy game. You can expect it to launch on PC and Meta Quest on November 9th. So let’s get into to information.

What is Demeo Battles?

Demeo Battles which you can say is the next iteration of the cult classic game Demeo. It was built first to be on PC, but it has VR support. This game is designed for all kinds of players whether a seasoned Demeo veteran or the people that might be brand new to the game. Demeo Battles is meant to be fast-paced and designed to be a pick-up-and-play style game. The team says that the game is the perfect PVP turn-based fantasy title for multiplayer fans.

Demeo Battles Release Announced and More!

Resolution Games finally announced Demeo Battles release date on November 9 to PC and Meta Quest. On October 9th, fans of the game can get their hands on a PC demo at Steam Next Fest. The purpose of the Demeo Battles demo will help fans get a taste of the PVP features since it’s a stark contrast to Demeo‘s cooperative-centric adventure.

Not only did we get a release date announced for the game, but Resolution Games will also be releasing a full-match playthrough of Demeo Battles. We will get to see Jerry Holkins (aka Tycho) and Mike Krahulik (aka Gabe) of Penny Arcade. Tommy Palm, founder, and CEO of Resolution Games had this to say about the game:

We know the Demeo audience has been clamoring for more to play. After several years of developing a competitive approach to our fantasy world, I’m excited that we’re able to share the first full look at a playthrough of Demeo Battles. With shorter play sessions, as well as maps and mechanics that have been built from the ground up for PvP play. The world of Demeo is more accessible than ever. Demeo Battles offer a robust, highly replayable experience for tactics-minded competitors. We believe it offers more than enough fun to earn its place as the second standalone entry in the Demeo Action Role Playing System.

What Does It Offer?

If you watched the playthrough above you can see that Demeo Battles does offer a few different things to enjoy. You get access to a wide variety of characters to choose from, along with multiple different maps to enjoy. Something else you get to buy units and cards to prepare for battle. All of this is to unleash your attacks or utilize smart strategies to defeat your opponent.

Each match typically takes between 15 and 20 minutes to complete. This is good because Demeo adventures can take up to 4 hours or multiple sessions. This makes it easily digestible for short play sessions, so you can come back for a rematch again and again.

Jerry Holkins, co-founder of Penny Arcade said this about the experience:

Demeo Battles is a really cool take on a formula that was already incredibly good. Individual rounds are fast and tense. ​It’s a welcome addition to the family and I think it could have real legs.

You will have the option to battle it out online in 1v1 or 2v2 tactical matches. All this while you assemble armies of monstrous minions along the way. While Demeo Battles is playable on Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3 or any SteamVR headsets, the game is playable on PC without VR in a completely native flatscreen experience as well. Game Features To Expect

• Turn-based Tactics: Battle your opponents in dungeons, forests, and more as you square off against your enemies in grid-based action combat across 10 maps tailored for intense PvP competition — but don’t fall victim to “The Burn,” an ever-encroaching flood of lava that works its way towards the center of the board and causes immense damage to any player or monster caught in its path.
• Monstrous Minions: Assemble an army of chaotic critters to fight alongside you — from rats and goblins to cave trolls to giant slimes — a rotating cast of 37 creatures to pick from at launch, all with a mind of their own!
• Heroic Teamwork: Bring two champions to the battle in every match and leverage their synergies; control both heroes directly or partner up with another player to defeat competitors cooperatively.
• Play Your Way: Choose a champion to match your play style from 7 classes — ​ hunter, sorcerer, assassin, guardian, bard, warlock, or barbarian — to unleash magic, melee mayhem, and more, with 89 possible cards to pick from when raining fury down on your opponents.
