Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC Revealed

Happy Pokémon Day, trainers! Today, The Pokémon Company gave its annual Pokémon Day Direct on their plans for the year. As anticipated, we got official announcements for the Scarlet and Violet DLC packs, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero tells a two-part story which each features its own main Legendary Pokémon.

Part one, titled The Teal Mask, follows the Legendary Pokémon, Ogerpon. The Pokémon Academy sends you out of the Paldea Region and into Kitakami. There, you’ll work with another school on an outdoor project. Part two, The Indigo Disk, features Terapagos. Here, the player becomes an exchange student, going to the Pokémon Academy’s sister school, Blueberry Academy.

Unlike Scarlet and Violet’s predecessor, these DLC’s have a connected storyline. The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk are slated to release in Fall and Winter of this year respectively.

In addition, we also got a other updates about Pokémon projects, including more Scarlet and Violet updates.

DLC is Part of What Scarlet and Violet are Getting

Thorough Pokémon players who read all of the library books at the Academy may recognize one of the updates. Two new Paradox Pokémon appear in Tera Raids, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. Walking Wake, Scarlet’s prehistoric form of Suicune, is a Water/Dragon type. Iron Leaves, Violet’s futuristic take on Virizion, is Grass and Psychic.

Any player can catch both of these Paradox Pokémon for a limited time. Players have from today until March 12th to try capturing either of these Pokémon. Each Pokémon is version-specific, but not exclusive. If a Violet player wanting Walking Wake can find a Raid hosted in a Scarlet version, they can catch Walking Wake there and vice versa.

Pokémon Sleep Releases this Summer

The Pokémon Company answered a question nobody thought of today: what if we gave good sleepers Pokémon? Pokémon Sleep is an upcoming mobile sleep-tracking app that rewards users with Pokémon. Your sleep will get categorized into three different groups, and Pokémon who fall into that group will appear in the app.

As Ash’s Story Ends, Another Story Begins

Netflix joined in the festivities to introduce Pokémon Concierge. This stop-motion series follows a Pokémon hotel concierge named Haru and her experiences with Pokémon at her hotel. We got a brief teaser for the show where Haru follows a Psyduck onto a beach.

For clarification, this is not replacing Ash Ketchum when he and Pikachu retire. Pokémon Concierge is only taking place in the Pokémon universe separate from the new series.

Pokémon Classic Brings Back Trading Card Memories

Today’s first announcement was actually on the new Trading Card Game set releasing soon. Instead of just getting some classic cards, players will get it in a sleek carrying case which folds out into a playing mat. The set also comes with space for additional decks, specialty cards for the fully evolved Kanto starters (Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise) and a Professor Oak card.
