Days Gone, the Playstation exclusive game made by Bend Studio, is heading to PC early this year.

Days Gone Launches On PC This Spring

In the GQ Magazine interview, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan confirmed Days Gone will be launching this spring on the PC platform. While it is not news that PlayStation’s first-party games are heading to PC, the addition of Days Gone enforces Sony’s original decision.

“We find ourselves now in early 2021 with our development studios and the games that they make in better shape than they’ve ever been before,” Jim Ryan says. “There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognize the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward. The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the calibre of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of making it available to non-console owners has grown. So it’s a fairly straightforward decision for us to make.”

Continuing the conversation in relation to Horizon Zero Dawn’s success on PC, “people liked it and they bought it.” Discussing the reaction from PlayStation community, Ryan says there was “no massive adverse reaction to it.”

In essence, Ryan is saying the company and the community are on board for PlayStation exclusives releasing on platforms outside of the brand. It is unclear if upcoming PlayStation games will release on console and PC simultaneously some time in the future. As of now, it seems past PlayStation titles are making their way to PC eventually.

In related news, PlayStation is kicking off its Play At Home campaign in March by making 2016’s Ratchet & Clank available for free. Players can download the PS4 action adventure game from March 1 to March 31.
