Google Play Store: A Useful Guide for Beginners

Tags: store google apps

So, you just bought your first Android phone, that’s great! However, you need to know a few basic things about the Google Play Store app. Google, a tech giant company from Mountain View, created both the app and the operating system.

The Play Store is the place where you can find anything you need for your phone, like Apps, games, e-books, and more.

There are tons of free content in the Google Play Store that you can choose from, but there are also apps, games and other types of files that require you to pay for them. Also, apps and games that appear as free in the Play Store can charge you money for in-app/in-game progress.

But don’t worry, anytime something you download requires money, you will be notified. Don’t be afraid that someone or something will pull out money from your credit card by pure magic.

How to Install Google Play Store Apps and Games

You can find countless useful apps and fun games in Google Play Store, as well as TV shows, music, and movies. You can either choose to search by the desired name or through the Categories option. Also, the Google Play Store app has an automated recommendation system available. This system suggests content to you based on what you had been searching previously. Simply clicking on the app, game, TV show or movie you want and hitting the Install button afterwards will get you having the desired content on your phone.

How to Install Updates for Apps, Games and More

Updating your content whenever you can is an important process. Plus, it will protect your smartphone from malicious software. Updating your content can be done easily by following the next steps:

  • Select the ‘hamburger button’ (the three lines) in the top left corner while on the Play Store homepage
  • Tap the My apps & games option
  • You will see a list of all your Android apps and games. You can update them all one by one by hitting the Update button next to any of those apps names. Or you can use the much easier method. Simply hit the Update all button from the top list and any app that is not updated will receive its update.

There is a lot more to cover about Google Play Store, but we’ve only gone for some of the basic things.
