Some Honda Check Engine Light Problems

While there are thousands of diagnostic trouble codes, some are more common with specific vehicles than others. Common causes of the check engine light in Honda include:

• Loose or damaged gas cap. A loose gas cap can allow extra air into your fuel mixture. This can cause a number of trouble codes, like P0171 (System too lean) or EVAP system leak codes (P0455-P0457).
