Microsoft is bringing back their long-gone Kinect with the help of Sky’s new all-in-one TVs. Sky has said that they are resurrecting the original Microsoft’s Kinect accessory next year. The satellite broadcaster announced its new Sky Glass TVs and along with that, the company has built a separate 4K Camera that includes motion controls and gestures support. According to them, it is supposed to work with games and has a social TV sharing feature built-in partnership with Microsoft.

“Working with Microsoft we’re also building a fantastic feature that lets us watch TV together even if we’re miles apart,” says Fraser Stirling, Sky’s chief product officer. “It syncs your TV with other households, with integrated video and chat on-screen, and you can choose content from the biggest channels — including Premier League matches, movies, and all your favorite entertainment.”

This new motion camera will allow people to see each other’s reactions instantly. One can also pause, skip, and replay as you watch together. This camera also gets motion controls and gesture support for gaming. The camera will also let other Sky Glass owners watch TV together, using their cameras to see each other’s faces, similar to the Snap feature Xbox One originally launched with.

The maker has also confirmed that there are some newly supported games too. Currently, the list is pretty short and comes including a Paw Patrol game and Fruit Ninja. The games appear to play exactly like Kinect games did, with the camera tracking the player’s movement.

While for the TV itself, the TV will also have six speakers integrated and will support Dolby Vision, HDR 10 and Dolby Atmos sound, with the idea being a standalone TV that doesn’t require a soundbar, a satellite dish or an external Sky TV box.
