Trailer Roundup: Raat Akeli Hai, Bhuj, Lucifer S5 and More

While the whole world is sitting at home and binging on new series and shows, new trailers and announcements have made their way to various platforms. If you’re wondering what’s coming next, here’s a list of latest trailer releases for you to add new shows and movies on your watch list. Trailer Roundup – July 2020.

1. Raat Akeli Hai

The most powerful usually hide the darkest secrets. What happens when a small-town cop is summoned to investigate the case of an extremely powerful local politician? How far is he willing to go into the darkness to search for the truth?

Raat Akeli Hai, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Shweta Tripathi, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Nishant Dahiya, Ila Arun, Swanand Kirkire and Aditya Srivastava, is the story of an extremely mysterious murder.

A mysterious murder where the only suspects are from the same family, with each member having a hidden motive. Will Jatil (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) finds his way to the truth or lose track midway?

Raat Akeli Hai will stream on 31st July 2020 on Netflix.

2. BHUJ

Bhuj: The Pride of India is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language war-action film directed, co-produced and written by Abhishek Dudhaiya. Set during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, it is about the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, the then in-charge of the Bhuj airport who, along with his team, reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of 300 local women. 

The film features Ajay Devgn as Karnik, along with Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk, and Pranitha Subhash.

3. Shakuntala Devi

Amazon Prime Video recently dropped the trailer of Shakuntala Devi, an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical film. Directed and written by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Networks India and Vikram Malhotra under his banner Abundantia Entertainment.

The film stars Vidya Balan as Shakuntala Devi, who was also known as the “human computer” along with Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra, and Amit Sadh.

Shakuntala Devi will stream on Amazon Prime Video on 31 July 2020.

4. Lootcase

Lootcase is an upcoming comedy-drama film starring Kunal Khemu, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Raaz, Ranvir Shorey, and Gajraj Rao.

Nandan Kumar (Kunal Khemu) comes across a suitcase and discovers it is full of cash. He knows nothing about who it belongs to, where it’s from, or how it got there. He takes the suitcase and soon enough, finds himself being chased by a notorious gangster (Vijay Raaz), an honest cop (Ranvir Shorey), and a minister (Gajraj Rao), who want the suitcase at any cost.

Lootcase will stream from 31 July 2020 on Disney+ Hotstar.

5. A Suitable Boy

A Suitable Boy is adapted from the novel of the same name by Vikram Seth. The drama, directed by Mira Nair and starring Tabu, Ishaan Khatter, Tanya Maniktala, Rasika Dugal, and Ram Kapoor follows the story of spirited university student Lata (played by Maniktala), coming of age in North India in 1951.

A Suitable Boy will air on 26 July 2020 on BBC One.

6. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

Gunjan flew, so we could soar.

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is the inspiring tale of a simple girl who went to remarkable lengths to achieve her dreams. The film will premiere on Netflix in 2020.

7. Lucifer S5 (Part 1 Trailer)

The ending of Lucifer S4 left fans wanting and waiting for more of Detective Decker and Lucifer. After all, finally, they were in love! But Lucifer left for hell.

The entry of Michael this season is something every Lucifer fan is looking forward to. Are you excited? Because I am!

Lucifer S5 Part 1 will stream on Netflix from 21 August 2020.

8. The Alienist: Angel of Darkness

TNT has released the official trailer for season 2 of The Alienist: Angel of Darkness.

The series will open with two back-to-back episodes. This season, Sara (Dakota Fanning) has now opened her own detective agency and reunites with Dr Kreizler (Daniel Brühl) and John Moore (Luke Evans) to search for the kidnapped daughter of the Spanish Consular, revealing all kinds of evil along the way.

The Alienist: Angel of Darkness premieres on TNT on 19 July 2020.

9. Ted Lasso

Apple TV+ has released the trailer for its upcoming project Ted Lasso. The series follows the titular character, an American football coach, who is hired to head an English football club.

The series also stars Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster, and Nick Mohammed. Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold also executive produce, with Liza Katzer serving as co-executive producer.

Ted Lasso will premiere on Apple TV+ on 14 August 2020.

10. World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji

From the creator of Survivor, 66 teams descend upon Fiji to compete in the most epic global adventure race ever attempted. Bear Grylls hosts this 11-day expedition that pushes competitors to their physical and emotional limits. For the veteran teams the goal is to win – but for most, the dream is to finish and prove to themselves and the world, that they can prevail in the World’s Toughest Race.

World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji premieres on Amazon Prime Video on 14 August 2020.

11. Last Chance U

The award-winning docuseries heads to Laney College in Oakland, California, where coach John Beam and his players are known for excellence on and off the field.

The fifth season takes place in a new setting to give viewers a raw, authentic look at the junior football program at Laney College in Oakland, California, where its players navigate injuries and stress while finding support in the community. Last Chance U is a Netflix production, executive produced and directed by Greg Whiteley.

Last Chance U premieres on Netflix on July 28 2020.
