Samsung is holding a launch event for today to announce its next flagship series dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Note 10. But before that big announcement, the company revealed the Exynos 9825 chipset, which will power the most of the Galaxy Note 10 series devices worldwide. According to the official introduction, the Exynos 9825 is the industry’s first mobile processor with a 7nm EUV process.
The tri-cluster octa-core SoC uses two custom cores (Mongoose M4), two Cortex-A75, while, the remaining four are Cortex-A55 cores. However, the clock speed is yet to be seen, but most probably it remains same as found on Exynos 9820 chipset. There is no change in GPU as ARM Mali-G76 MP12 still handles the graphics-intensive tasks.
The Exynos 9825 supports up to 8K ultra high definition UHD video encoding and decoding. Further, it integrates 4G LTE-Advanced Pro modem and 8x carrier aggregation to provide up to 2Gbps download speed and more reliable and stable network connection, while supporting the 5G network with Samsung Exynos Modem 5100.
In addition, Exynos 9825 further adds UFS 3.0 flash, LPDDR4X memory, 4K display support, 22MP single or dual 16MP camera, and a dedicated NPU for AI tasks. In regards, the chip enhances power efficiency and stability compared to Exynos 9820.
