The India Couture Week just concluded in Delhi and With its galactic sequins, structured corsets, and wavy skirts Indian Couture Week attracted designers seeking a magical foray into the realm of synthetic excellence. And when craft creativity was at the height of time and innovation, the star-studded catwalk of the most rising celebrities surprised and inspired many of us.

Beautifully integrated with sumptuous costumes and lavish sets, the seeds of exquisite craftsmanship are successfully planted in Anamika Khanna’s textured draperies and lyrical fluidity seen in Rimjim Dadu.

The show started with Falguni and Shane Peacock, followed by an irreplaceable roster of talent from around the country. Below are all the Bollywood stars who have turned designers this season so far in India Couture Week 2023.

The designer duo went beyond the realm of the ordinary, taking inspiration from Renaissance history and mixing it with seams of classic Indian silhouettes. With an air of magic and romance, Kiara Advani lit the runway in a flamingo-pink two-piece set featuring crystals and beaded tassels.

Aditi Rao Hydari for Ritu Kumar

Using a textile vocabulary based on meticulous craftsmanship and intricate detailing, Ritu Kumar tells a story centered around the unforgettable allure of Indian opulence and heritage. And as we near the end of a captivating fashion show, the dreamiest Aditi Rao Hydari took to the runway in an exquisite lehenga with a cropped ghazal jacket.

Bhumi Pednekar for Varun Bahl

Extravagant, extravagant, and exclusive – all essential features of an understated Varun Bahl runway show – and while the theme of maximalism took center stage, we saw Bhumi Pednekar channel a beautiful ensemble in hand-embroidered metallic gold with intricate cutwork and appliqué.

With his sleek cut and dark color palette, Kunal Rawal made our hearts beat faster as Ranbir Kapoor walked the runway in a navy blue handcrafted bandh gala jacket.

Actress Disha Patani was the showstopper for couturier Dolly J on day seven of India Couture Week when she walked the ramp in a mermaid skirt with a thigh-high slit and a plunging sequined bralette bodice. She completed her look with glittery, glamorous makeup and statement earrings. Titled ‘Selene’, the collection was inspired by the ethereal charm of the moon, reflecting its glow by incorporating metallic fabrics, and ivory tulle. and silver sequins.

Vaani Kapoor for Roseroom by Isha J

Vaani walked down the ramp wearing a red chikankari embroidered lehenga with a sleeveless blouse with a plunging neckline that featured handmade details on the blouse, skirt, and dupatta. Shraddha Kapoor for Rahul Mishra

The closing night for ICW 2023 was marked by Rahul Mishra’s show where Shraddha Kapoor turned heads as she walks the ramp in a sparkling silver lehenga with a neckline blouse. Known for his innovative approach to couture, Rahul Mishra’s designs inspired by flora and fauna transport you to the wonder of nature with silhouettes that fit the bill.

As for the color palette of the show, it was full of beautiful pastels like blue, pink, and ivory to solid and dark hues. And the way they were styled and worn by the models was different.

India Couture Week 2023 started on 25th July. Rahul Mishra will complete the week on 2nd August.
