Months of interrogations, single highs, farewells, duets, passages to California and Hawaii all came to a head Sunday night( May 21) as America chose its Idol who captured their hearts and souls. The grand homestretch was evidence of what numerous formerly knew. During the special on ABC, the three finalists – Iam Tongi, Megan Danielle and Colin Stough – had one last chance to impress the followership with solo performances and duets with the stars.

And, with millions watching at home, out came the stars. Keith Urban, Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding, Lionel Richie, TLC, REO Speed wagon, Pitbull and Lil Jon and others filled the screen. 

America chose Tongi and Daniels as the final two rivals. 

Tongi stood alone as the mates champion, unmatched and unequalled .

A Hawaii high schooler with a beautiful voice and a sad story has captured the hearts of the hero mode in recent months. With each performance, Tongi’s legend grew.

In the homestretch, he performed Keith Urban’s” Making memories of Us,” ” Cool Down” and paid homage to his own late father with” I will Be Seeing You” and teamed up with James Blunt. For the performance of ” Monsters”.

Tongi can now launch his career with a recording contract, part of the pillages of winning the periodic contest.

This season of American Idol 2023, will forever be etched in our memories as Iam Tongi the deserving champion claimed the crown. Tongi has proven to be an inspiration to aspiring artists and a symbol of  the transformative power of music.
