[Update 24.05.22]: Microsoft has now released KB5014019 to everyone. The optional update has been revised again and the version number has increased to 22000.708. Accordingly, we have also adjusted the downloads of KB5014019.

[Original 20.05.22]: After Windows 10 (KB5014023) it is now Windows 11’s turn, with the optional (non-security) update. Also called C update. KB 5014019 increases the version number to Windows 11 22000.706.

After the security patch from 10.05. (KB5013943), so let’s continue with improvements and fixes. Currently still in the RP channel before the update is then distributed to everyone via Windows Update. This is the normal process. In the meantime, the “floodgates” have also been opened for Windows 11. Except for a showstopper with the Intel Smart Sound drivers, Windows 11 is now available to all eligible users via Windows Update.

  • New! We’ve improved family safety verification for a child account when submitting a request for extra screen time.
  • New! Windows Spotlight on the desktop brings the world to your desktop with new wallpapers every day. With this function, new images are automatically displayed as the background for your desktop. This feature already exists for the lock screen. You can also find more information about each wallpaper on the internet. To enable this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Background > Personalize your background. Choose Windows Spotlight.
  • We fixed an issue that caused the Input application (TextInputHost.exe) to stop working.

  • We prevented users from being able to bypass forced sign-in by disconnecting from the internet when signing in to Azure Active Directory (AAD).

  • We fixed an issue that occurs when adding a trusted user, trusted group, or trusted computer that has a one-way trust established. The error message “The selected object does not match the type of the target source” is displayed.
  • We fixed an issue where the Application Counters section wasn’t showing in the Performance Monitoring tool’s performance reports.
  • We fixed an issue where the display brightness is not maintained after you change the display mode.
  • We have corrected an issue that may affect some applications that use d3d9.dll with certain graphics cards and may cause those applications to close unexpectedly.

  • We fixed an issue that causes printing errors when a low integrity level (LowIL) application prints to a null port.
  • We fixed an issue that prevents BitLocker from encrypting when you use the silent encryption option.
  • We fixed an issue that causes a false negative result when you run scripts while Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) is enabled. This can cause AppLocker events 8029, 8028, or 8037 to appear in the log when they shouldn’t.
  • We fixed an issue that occurs when you apply multiple WDAC policies. This could prevent scripts from running even though the policies allow scripts to run.
  • We have corrected an issue affecting the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) driver, which may increase system boot time.
  • We fixed an issue that could cause the Remote Desktop client application to stop working when you end a session.

  • We’ve added animation to the Widgets icon when you click or tap the icon and the taskbar is left-aligned.
  • We fixed an issue affecting the appearance of the default widgets icon in a center-aligned taskbar.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in blurry app icons in search results when the screen’s dots per inch (dpi) scaling is greater than 100%.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in slower file copying due to incorrect calculation of write buffers in Cache Manager.
  • We fixed an issue that could cause a system to become unresponsive when a user signs out when using Microsoft OneDrive.
  • We fixed a known issue that could result in an inability to boot recovery discs (CD or DVD) if you created them using the Backup and Restore (Windows 7) application in Control Panel. This issue occurs after installing Windows updates released on January 11, 2022 or later.
