When Final Fantasy IX released shortly after the turn of the millennium, it was a return to everything we associated the series with during the NES and SNES eras: crystals, princesses and dragons.
In short, it was a fairy tale that many still hold dear. It is, for example, Hironobu Sakaguchi, the series’ father, favorite part. Someone remake-treated à la Final Fantasy VII has not received the game (yet?), but last year it was revealed that a child-friendly anime series was underway.
Animation Magazine has interviewed Bruno Danzel d’Aumont, who works for Cyber Group Studios, which produces the anime. According to him, the studio will show several projects during the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas this week, such as Final Fantasy IX. It’s hard to misunderstand this sentence:
Final Fantasy IX will be presented for the first time.
