Asus comes with an interesting, because it is inexpensive, 2-in-1 device in the style of the Surface Pro: The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED costs from 599 euros and, as the name suggests, comes with an OLED display, which is quite unusual for this price range.

According to the Asus press release, the Vivobook 13 Slate is even the very first Windows detachable with an OLED screen. The 13.3-inch display in 16: 9 format offers a rather modest resolution of 1,366 × 768 pixels, which shouldn’t come as a surprise in view of the price.

A contrast of 1,000,000: 1, a brightness of 550 nits, HDR support, Dolby Vision and 100% Pantone validation are all features that are absolutely exceptional for this price range. A pen with four interchangeable tips in different degrees of hardness is also included.

Also included is the clip-on keyboard, which promises a typing experience suitable for everyday use with a key travel of 1.4 mm.

You already guessed it: At this price you have to save somewhere. The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is powered by an Intel Pentium Silver N6000, so the device is by no means suitable for time-consuming and computationally intensive activities, and multitasking should also be avoided.

Depending on the equipment, there is 4 or 8 GB RAM and either 128 GB eMMC storage or a 256 GB NVMe SSD. Further features are a microSD slot, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 2xUSB-C 3.2 and a 3.5mm audio jack. There are two cameras, 5 MP in the front and 13 MP in the rear. The device weighs just under 800 grams.
