Here’s How to take screenshot on laptop?

Today I am going to share three simple ways to take screenshot on any laptop.

First, to take screenshot on windows based laptop simply use the following keyboard shortcut

Press Print Screen (or PrtScn) button on the keyboard. Or press Fn + PrintScreen(or PrtScn) button on keyboard of your laptop, screenshot will be stored in clipboard. You can paste screenshot in paint, and save the screenshot.

Second, In Windows 10 you can capture screen very easily and you can capture only that part of the screen that is needed. It’s flawless and easy to use. For that you have to open Snipping Tool application in your window 10 laptop.

How to Take Screenshot using Snipping Tool in Windows 10:

In Windows 10, Keyboard Shortcut to open Snipping Tool is

Window logo Key+ Shift + S on the Keyboard

When you press these keys on the keyboard, Snipping Tool Bar will appear on the top of the screen.

There are a four options in this Tool bar by which you can capture laptop’s screen.  Here are these Four Options:-

1. Rectangular Snip

This tool is used to select rectangular area of active window. Selected rectangular area will get copied, you can use paste copied screenshot in paint save it in your PC/Laptop. Here’s how it works:-

• Press Window logo Key+ Shift + S on keyboard
• Now, select Rectangular Snip option on the tool bar that appears on top of the screen. Screen will become dim
• Drag inside the active window.
• Selected will get copied in the clipboard.
• Paste copied screenshot in paint
• In paint window, click on Save Button and save the screenshot in your PC/Laptop.

2. Freeform snip: –

It is a free hand capturing tool. Using this tool you can select area of the current window free hand according to your choice. Here’s how it works:-

• Press Window logo Key+ Shift + S on keyboard
• Now, select Freeform Snip option on the tool bar that appears on top of the screen. Screen will become dim
• Drag (like a pencil tool in Paint Application) inside the active window.
• Selection will get copied in the clipboard.
• Paste copied screenshot in paint
• In paint window, click on Save Button and save the screenshot in your PC/Laptop.

3. Windows Snip: –

This tool is used to select the current active window. Only the current active application window will be selected no other detail will be selected. If you use this option on MS word, only the MS word window get selected and copied, taskbar or other windows screen area will not get copied. How it works?

•  Press Window logo Key+ Shift + S on keyboard
• Now, select window snip option on the tool bar that appears on top of the screen. Screen will become dim
• Click inside the active application (for example MS Word)
• Active screen will be copied in the clipboard.
• Paste copied screenshot in paint
• In paint window, click on Save Button and save the screenshot in your PC/Laptop.

4. Fullscreen Snip:-

Fullscreen Snip tool is used to select the full laptop screen. It works as follows:

• Press Window logo Key+ Shift + S on keyboard
• Now, select Fullscreen Snip option on the tool bar that appears on top of the screen.
• Active screen will get copied in the clipboard.
• Paste copied screenshot in paint
• In paint window, click on Save Button and save the screenshot in your PC/Laptop.

Bonus Tip: – After capturing, screenshot will appear to the bottom right corner of the laptop screen as a thumbnail image for a while, if you click on that image, it will open in Snipping Tool Application where you can save the screenshot by clicking on Save Button on toolbar.

How to Take Screenshot using Snipping Tool in Windows 7:

Third, in Windows 7, you can capture laptop screen by using snipping tool application of windows. To open the application. There are two ways to open Snipping Tool.

First Way

• Click on windows menu(On bottom left corner-on taskbar).
• Select All Programs menu
•  Choose Accessories then click on Snipping Tool.

Second Way

• Click on the window menu on the screen
• In search box, type snipping tool
• To Open the application, click on Snipping Tool.

• Click on new
• The screen will get dim and plus icon will appear on the screen.
• You can drag the plus icon to capture screen
• After capturing the screen snipping tool application will show you the selection
• Now you can save the image or copy it

Bonus Tip: -You can also pin Snipping Tool on the Task Bar. Right Click on Snipping Tool Icon inside the Accessories Menu. From the pop-menu Click on Pin to Taskbar option.
