How A Petrol Car Engine Works In India

A petrol car engine in India works by mixing fuel with air and then igniting it to create a power stroke. The power stroke drives the pistons which in turn rotate the crankshaft. The crankshaft drives the wheels of the car. The four-stroke petrol engine is the most common type of engine used in cars in India. The four strokes are: intake, compression, power, and exhaust. The intake stroke begins when the piston moves down, creating a vacuum. This sucks the fuel-air mixture into the cylinder. The compression stroke then begins, where the piston moves back up and compresses the fuel-air mixture. The power stroke is created when the spark plug ignites the fuel-air mixture, causing the piston to move down. This drives the crankshaft, which in turn drives the wheels of the car. The final stroke is the exhaust stroke, where the piston moves back up and pushes the exhaust out of the cylinder.

In their early stages, Diesel and petrol engines were compared. A diesel or a gasoline car‘s power can be varied in a variety of ways. It is more efficient to run a diesel engine because you use 15-20% less fuel and your running costs will fall as a result. While petrol vehicles are slightly less expensive to buy and service, they are also more expensive in terms of CO2 emissions. The gap between Diesel and Petrol prices has decreased even before the introduction of BS6 by removing price regulation for Diesel.
