TumiChamayou is Mtn New Executive for the Enterprise Business Unit

MTN Group has announced the appointment of TumiChamayou as its Group Executive:  Enterprise Business Unit (GEBU), which will take effect from 1 June 2022.

TumiChamayou joined the GEBU team in 2018 as general manager for large enterprise sales and also has been the acting executive since July 2020.

Tumi’s appointment is also the latest by the Pan-African mobile operator, which is beefing up the team to drive its Ambition in 2025 strategy.

In December 2021, MTN appointed Hermann Tischendorf as the chief technology and information officer for digital & fintech and also assigned Michele Gamberini as chief technology & information officer, and Megan Nicholas as the Managing Director of MTN Supersonic.

In a statement the MTN Group says “During this time, she has added immense value, overseeing client segment teams as well as the overall strategy & operational alignment with EBU teams in MTN’s operating companies “.

According to the group chief operating executive Jens Schulte-Bockum, “Tumi has the expertise and track record to assist in bolstering the leadership capability of the MTN Group”. “Critical to the realisation of our strategic imperatives is an integrated, synergistic, & collaborative leadership team whose core values and mindset are aligned with the company’s strategy. We look forward to working with Tumi in her new role”.

Chamayou is a seasoned professional, she holds an MBA from the University of Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa and has a broad experience in technology, and telecommunications and management consulting.
Before joining the MTN, Tumi held various senior leadership roles at prominent companies such as Ericsson, EgonZehnder, Accenture and Decipher.
