How To Make A Watermark On Any Computer Or Smartphone

Watermarking your photos is one of the best ways to keep people from sharing photos online without losing your credit. Watermarks may not be the ideal solution. Some people, including us, might argue that they are not very beneficial, but there is still a reason for that. In particular, how to make a Watermark is the matter to learn.

Therefore, below you’ll find some of the many ways to add watermarks to your images. However, from simple to sophisticated ways, you can at least protect your life at least to some extent. Equally important, it’s you.

Quick and easy way

Hence, the easiest way to add copyright to an image is to use the text tool in your photo editing program. Even though, Microsoft Paint will do the work too. Likewise, name the tag. Thus, you can write in the corner with a small font size, or plaster the entire picture.

Draw a box around and use colors and funky fonts. It’s entirely up to you. This method is not attractive, but it is the quickest and easiest way to add a watermark. This may be sufficient if you are sending out a set of proofs for the client to select the image you want to print. If you want a cleaner approach, keep reading.

You can use Microsoft Paint to overlay some text over an image to create a watermark, but that’s not very good.

Online watermark tool

Another easy way to watermark your photos is to use an online tool such as PicMarkr. Upload up to 5 photos, or import photos from Flickr or Facebook, then choose from three different watermark options: text, image, or tile.

The text watermark is similar to the one previously described, but the image watermark places another image (such as a logo) over the original image (you need to resize it in advance). The problem with using PicMarkr to create an image watermark is that you can not mix opacity with the original photo because you can not select the opacity of the secondary image. The third option, a tiled watermark, simply overlays text or images throughout the picture.

For online watermarking tools, Watermark.ws offers many options and flexibility.

This method is quick and easy, but not necessary. Another online watermarking tool, PicMark (eg a very similar name), takes a cleaner approach by creating frames around images. Sadly, it looks nice to leave the photo intact, but someone can easily crop the image from the frame. And you can not select the size of the watermarked image.

Watermark.ws, on the other hand, gives you the flexibility to drag text or image watermarks anywhere on your photos. With this software, you can adjust the font, color, and image opacity, making it as visually appealing or unobtrusive as you like. Of the three mentioned, Watermark.ws can give you the most professional results.

Watermarkphotos.net is another option for watermarking photos in your browser. This site is set up separately because all work is done locally. In other words, the content is not sent to the server to be watermarked and a separate privacy layer is added.

Desktop watermark software

By default, there are downloadable watermarking software that performs the same function as the online tool mentioned above. However, because you do not need an Internet connection, the process is faster and you can keep photos on your local drive.

There are many free and paid software. Each software has different functions. On MacOS, PhotoBulk is a great option for easily adding custom watermarks in large quantities, editing EXIF data, and resizing images. The download cost is $ 10, but it is one of the better options if you have purchased an older version and is half the price.

The alternative is TSR watermark and uMark, and the latter is a premium application that can apply graphics and perform batch watermarking. Thankfully uMark offers a free version with limited functionality.

PhotoBulk is a fast and clean way to add watermarks and adjust images on MacOS.

However, before downloading new software, you may already have something installed that can create a watermark on your computer.

Popular image viewer for Windows IrfanView has built-in watermarking. Photoshop Elements makes it easy to create watermarks. Nevertheless, quickly check the image editing software you are using to see if you can use the watermarking function.

Using the Photo Editor

If your photo editing software does not provide watermarking, does not download new software, or if your online tools are too bland or do not fit your creative requirements, you can always create them yourself with image-based tools. Editing software such as Photoshop, GIMP, or Pixelmator.

How fantastic your watermark is depends on your level of comfort as a graphic designer, but most people know the most basic way to get started.

Create a watermark using Pixelmator.

As mentioned earlier, overlaying some text at the top of the image with copyright information and reducing the opacity of the image can blend well with the image (40-60% work well).

You should be able to see the watermark. But do not overwhelm the image (lower opacity to make it almost invisible). Opacity can be adjusted in the Layers section of Photoshop, but can be found elsewhere in other programs.

The location, size, and color of the text are up to you. If you have a premade logo (for example, for business), you can do the same thing here, just like text. You can adjust the opacity simply by importing or pasting the image.

You can always experiment with other design features and perform more complex tasks, but you do not need to do complex tasks. If you are using a program such as Photoshop to record your work, you can automate the process of batch image using this operation when creating a watermark.

Select mobile app

If you want to keep your photos on the web secure while on the go, it’s best to use a smartphone or tablet app to add a watermark. Fortunately, there are not enough apps to work with, regardless of Android or iOS users.

One of the most diverse mobile watermarking solutions is the iWatermark app. Available for both Android and iOS, this app lets you select photos from your library and add watermarks in a few tabs.

You can go with simple things like your name and copyright logo or overlay your own logo. The iWatermark app is not the most intuitive, but when you need to watermark multiple photos at once, you’re done and you have a batch option.

Adobe’s

If you’ve already invested in Adobe’s Creative Cloud platform, one of the best options for watermarking on mobile devices is to use one of Adobe’s mobile apps. Adobe Photoshop Mix (Android, iOS) offers many customization options when adjusting the watermark layer appropriately.

However, when you add a watermark to multiple images, you are not lucky because you do not have a placement option. The good news is that you can fit each image with a watermark in a custom location so that it is completely distracting from your photos.

One of the most exciting options while we are using iOS-only solutions is a shortcut known as a workflow. Shortcuts are apps that help you automate a tremendous amount of functionality across the entire iOS ecosystem.

If you want to watermark only one or two photos, this is not the best option, but if you’re working with an entire album, you can create or download a shortcut that automatically inserts a watermark across your photo collection.

Differentiating this app from others is to automate the process so you can automatically resize or upload all of your photos to Flickr, Dropbox, Facebook, or other social networks. This reduces yet another step in the post-production process.

How to Make a Watermark in Photoshop

Previously, Courtney posted a tutorial on how to create a watermark in Lightroom. Today I will write a quick tutorial using screenshots on how to make a watermark in Photoshop. I use CS6, but it also works on the Photoshop Creative Cloud (Editor’s note: I / Courtney recreated this process from the video above, but it’s the latest version on the Adobe Creative Cloud). However, the steps must be the same as or similar to the others. Versions of Photoshop

Image watermarking is very important when using images on blogs or on Facebook. It’s a great way to advertise your business name to future customers and protect your imagery from being used by people other than yourself.

It is one of the ways to protect the image from theft to those who do not do business. And watermarking does not protect 100% of the image, but it is one or more steps to prevent potential thieves.

I have a movie class soon, so I need to create a watermark for my movie work this year. I will walk. It takes about one minute to create the logo in advance. Otherwise, it will take about 2 minutes.

Create a transparent watermark

I have come to the right place to create my own custom watermark.

Do not you have your own time or energy? Try using one of the sample watermarks.

Note: This screenshot is from PS CS2. If you have PS Elements, the screen looks slightly different, but the steps are the same. The instructions are the same for PC or Mac users. If you need further help or support, please join Digital Grin ‘s Finishing School Forum.

Create A Document

OK, Step 1 is to create a new transparent document. Select File> New from the top menu bar and select the dimension. All sizes are normal, so please experiment. Here we have chosen a height of 1600 pixels x 200 pixels.

We want to be good at the largest size display copy that SmugMug uses. It fits even smaller display sizes.

Make sure Background Contents is set to Transparent.

Select OK.

The screen should now have a blank canvas.

Create Text

From the Tools menu, choose Type Tool.

Opens a menu of input tools, allowing you to select fonts, font sizes, font colors, and other properties. Here is where you can make it personally!

Once again, you’ll want to experiment with different fonts, sizes, and colors. Avoid dark colors and use readable fonts.

PS Elements users: Type and style selection is at the top of the screen.

Now import the cursor as a type tool and click on the canvas on the left. Start entering watermark text. Again, experiments can be anything you want! This example is just a business name, but it can be easy.

Use the typing tool to edit the text layer (click on the tool palette to make sure it is active). Click the beginning or end of the text and drag left or right to highlight the region. You can also simply “go back to the step” and start over again using Photoshop’s history state.

Choose Opacity

How excellent is your watermark? You can test the opacity of the watermark in the Layers palette.

Please reduce it to 50%. Because we are working on transparent documents, it looks very bright on the screen. Below you can see the examples as 100% and 50%. Make some versions of the watermark with different opacity and see which is the best fit!

Save

Watermark creation is over! Now save it to your computer using the File> Save for Web menu.

Next, the Save for Web screen is displayed. Select PNG-24 and Transparency, then click “Save” and specify a filename. Select a storage location on your computer.

Upload A Watermark

You can now upload a watermark to the gallery on the SmugMug site. This is generally appropriate for anyone with a link (private) gallery that holds a site file (such as a header image). But if you do not have one, create a new private gallery and say “watermark”.

Once uploading is complete, go to your Account settings> Business> Branding tab and select “Manage” in the Watermarks section to create a watermark in your image.

Specify a name (such as a watermark) and save it.

Watermarking

To actually add a watermark to a photo or the entire gallery, go to Customize Gallery and select a watermark. Then go back to the gallery and select Tools> Open in Editor> Watermark. Select a photo or entire gallery to take a watermark. Applying a watermark is over!

We recommend experimenting and creating a watermark with an effect in portrait or landscape images, or using a separate watermark for each type. For vertical images, create a watermark of 800×1200 in portrait orientation.

Wrap-up

To add a watermark, it’s best to keep it as clean and unobtrusive as possible. Also, before investing in imaging software such as Adobe Photoshop, you may want to try a variety of free options (unless you already have them).

The watermark does not guarantee that the image will not be used without your permission, but at least adds a layer of security and branding your content as your own.
