IDC Type: Papillary Carcinoma of the Breast

Though Invasive Papillary carcinomas are rare of the Breast cancer and accounting less than 1 to 2 % of breast

cancer. In many cases, tumors of this type are diagnosed in older women who pasted thru menopause.

Papillary Carcinoma of the Breast

Papillary carcinomas is made of small finger like projections and normally has well defined border. On scale of 1 to 3 it is often graded as 2, In grade 1 the cancer cells act partially normal, healthy breast cells and in grade 3 it is very strange & fast growing cells. Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is also present in most cases of papillary carcinoma. In DCIS, carcinoma cells are confined to the breast duct.
