Huawei unveils its first 5G chipset


After the release of Matebook D the Huawei company is again in breaking news for their latest product. Recently, Huawei unveils its first 5G chipset that supports the globally recognized 3GPP telecom standard for 5G network. It is collaborating with 30 operators, including Vodafone, SoftBank, T-Mobile, BT, Telefonica globally to deploy product based on Huawei Balong 5G01. The chip provides downlink speeds of up to 2.3Gbps and supports 5G connectivity across all frequency bands. These include sub-6GHz and millimeter wave (mmWave) to offer a complete 5G solution suitable for multiple use cases. Huawei chief executive officer, consumer business group, Mr. Richard Yu explains :

“Huawei Balong 5G01 is world’s first 3GPP 5G commercial chipset with the peak rate of 2.3 GBPS. Later on, in Q3 or Q4 of this year, we will launch the 5G smartphone with the 5G smartphone chipset. And our infrastructure, the 5G infrastructure is readily available to commercialize”

Currently, the Huawei 5G CPE comes in two models i.e. low frequency (sub 6GHz) 5G CPE with download speed up to 2Gbps and high frequency (mmWave) 5G CPE with download speed up to 20 Gbps respectively. It expects to roll out its first publicly available 5G networks could be available this year. So, most of the telecommunication companies are ready to face the 5G technology.
