Apparently, Samsung has had enough with the leaks of Samsung Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8 Plus and has finally decided to present them to society. It is already official, the trio A3, A5, and A8 are removed to make way for the new fashion duo: A8 and A8 +. Both models take the year as a surname, and there is already a Galaxy A8 in 2015. The most obvious change is obvious: the expanded screen reaches the Samsung range, but other new features include the double front camera. The fingerprint reader goes to the back and updates the interior, with more RAM and a more powerful brain. Of course, the larger version, the A8 + will probably stay in Asia.
Large screen, same designA mere glance will help us see that the most obvious apparent change is on the screen. The rest of materials and general design is quite similar if we ignore the side effects of the expanded screen as the disappearance of the physical start button and the move of the fingerprint reader to the rear. The overall design is a little more square, with less rounded edges and the front is black regardless of the color of the mobile. For the rest, the back keeps the same composition although the fingerprint reader is placed under the camera, whose lens is more prominent than in the previous generation. I would not dare to say that the side edges have been reduced because they seem more or less equal, but what has changed is the screen, which adopts the latest fashion of rounding its corners. Another subtle change, although noticeable is in the volume buttons, which have been merged after two generations separately.
The double camera is for selfiesThe other great novelty of Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8 Plus is in his camera. The double camera reaches the A series, although it does so on its front and not on the back. The 16MP sensor is combined with another 8MP sensor, with the F1.9 aperture to give you more options for your selfies, with portrait mode and Live Focus, a function with which you can adjust how much bokeh you want in the background. The rear camera maintains the 16 megapixels of the previous generation, but now with an opening of F1.7. We can, therefore, expect better performance in photos with insufficient lighting and at night.
Two instead of threeA3, A5, and A7 have been converted into A8 and A8 +. Arguably, the evolution of A5 is A8 and that of A7 is A8 + (and so indicate their model names), so we can say that there is no place for phones as small as the A3 in 2018, not even with the screen expanded. How is A8 different from A8 +? As you could see in the specifications table, not much. The screen of the A8 + is larger, has a larger battery, is larger and there is the version with 6 GB of RAM. Otherwise, it is the same screen resolution and storage stays the same. The thickness is practically the same in both , 8.4 mm for the A8 and 8.3 mm for the A8 +, a tad more chubby than the A of 2017, which were in the 7.9 mm, which in turn were fatter than those of 2016 (7.3 mm), which were of the originals (6.7 mm). Can we say that the fashion of making increasingly thin mobile phones has passed?
Versions and prices of Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8 +With the Galaxy A8 and A8 + you will have more options than ever because until now the A series was sold with fixed specifications for each model. This changes and we have the A8 (2018) with versions of 32 and 64 GB of storage, and the A8 + also with versions of 4 and 6 GB of RAM. As for the colors, we will have four options, the same as in previous occasions: black, orchid gray, gold and blue, which will not reach Europe. You can do with one very soon because the availability is set for early January. Everything indicates that the larger version and with more RAM, the A8 +, will not reach Europe, just as neither did the Galaxy A7. Regarding the price, we do not have it confirmed. If it helps, the A5 of 2017 was launched at a price of 429 euros, and it is not expected that this figure will be reduced. It is rumored that the price of A8 (2018) will be 499 euros and that the A8 + (2018) will rise to 599 euros.
