New acquisition of Apple , this time for the development part. The Cupertino company has taken over Buddybuild , a Vancouver-based startup that is the creator of a developer platform.
This tool favors a continuous process of deployment and integration, avoiding work in different systems. It also provides data on the response of users.
The startup itself has confirmed the news with a statement on its website, in which they explained that the company’s work team will join the group of Xcode engineers at Apple.
This is an integrated development environment, specialized in the creation of software for the operating systems of the apple company’s devices: iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS. From Buddybuild have been “excited” by the possibility of “building amazing tools for developers for the entire iOS community.”
The operation, from which the purchase price has not been disclosed or other conditions beyond those of the equipment, has an important consequence for current Buddybuild customers . Those who work on Apple’s operating system will continue to provide service, allowing them to build, test and launch applications. However, they will stop working with Android users and free plans next March 1 . Nor will they accept new clients.
Buddybuild has explained that the purchase does not entail a move, but that his offices will remain in Vancouver . According to data from the Crunchbase specialized portal , the company, founded in 2015, had managed to raise 8.8 million dollars to date through a seed round and another of series A, both in 2016.
