Honda has unveiled the updated 2025 Honda Civic and the big news is the new Civic hybrid. Additionally the 2025 Civic also gets some styling changes and tech upgrades.
The 2025 Civic Hybrid is powered by a two-motor hybrid powertrain, which is a detuned version of the Accord hybrid’s powertrain. The powertrain features two electric motors and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which will generate an estimated 200 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. That means that the Civic Hybrid has more torque than the Civic Si, with only the Civic Type R having more torque at 310 lb-ft.

With the arrival of the Civic Hybrid, the 180-hp 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder has been discontinued. This means that buyers can either choose the 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 hp or the more powerful hybrid version.
[See image gallery at www.thetorquereport.com]Honda expects the Civic Hybrid to have a combined fuel economy rating close to 50 mpg. The good news is that the Civic Hybrid is available either as a sedan or hatchback. Honda expects the Civic Hybrid to account for about 40% of all Civic sales.
On the outside the 2025 Civic gets a redesigned, more aggressive front fascia and grille, while the sedan gets new darker taillights. The hybrid versions stand out with body colored headlamp garnish and front lower spoiler.
The top spec Sport Touring Hybrid version gets the Civic’s first integration of Google built-in, which includes apps like Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play.
The 2025 Civic gets a slimmed down trim lineup, starting with LX (sedan only) and Sport, and the hybrid-powered Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid.
The 2025 Honda Civic sedan will arrive next month, while the hatchback will arrive later this summer.
