Leading Professional colleges now associates with Red Hat® – World’s Open Source leader, to differentiate themselves by providing an enterprise-ready Linux and Open Source curriculum to their students. Marian – the first campus in Kerala to become Red Hat Academy

Marian College Kuttikkanam (Autonomous) is the first campus that has a Red Hat Academy in Kerala under the new scheme. Over the past 14 years, the students of Marian have gained access to comprehensive open source technology certifications, such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE). MCA students at Marian found this globally recognised training and certification as a stepping stone towards their entry to an MNC career. For the past several years, Red Hat Certified Engineers (RHCE) from Marian are hired by companies like Allianz Cornhill, RMESI, Wipro etc. Mr Win Mathew John, HOD, MCA is the coordinator of Red Hat Academy at Marian.

Red Hat Academy at Marian college was inaugurated by Mr Tarliq Fasal (Global head of Red Hat Academy) in the presence of Rev Fr James Kozhimala, Manager, Marian College and Prof Dr Mendus Jacob, Director MCA. Most recently, Mr. Grega Bremec, Technical Consultant of Red Hat from Slovenia, visited this campus and had an interactive session with students on  Open Source and Cloud. He also distributed the globally recognised certifications from Red Hat to students as a part of their Red Hat Academy program.

Amal Jyothi – the first Engineering college in Kerala to become Red Hat Academy

Having the mission to “create technically qualified world-class professionals with social commitment through career-oriented courses conducted by high-profile faculties, complemented with globally interactive learning processes and leading-edge technology”, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirapally, has partnered with Red Hat and became the first engineering college in Kerala to become Red Hat Academy.

Students from CSE, ECE, IT and MCA chose Red Hat training and certification for the enhancement of their career growth. Not only the students, faculties also showed a keen interest in capturing the latest technologies through this Red Hat Academy program. Mrs. Nimmy Francis RHCE, Assistant Professor, MCA is the Red Hat Academy coordinator at the campus.

The first Government Engineering college in Kerala to become Red Hat Academy – College of Engineering, Cherthala

College of Engineering Cherthala, (IHRD) is the first Government Engineering college to become Red Hat Academy in Kerala. Graduation and Post graduation engineering students of this college found this Red Hat training and Certification program for getting better placements in IT companies. The Red Hat Academy activities were initiated in the campus under the activities of Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP – Central Government project). This campus conducted High-Intensity Training (HIT) program on Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) for enabling better placement for students, under TEQIP. Ms. Greeshma N.Gopal, Assistant Professor, CSE, acts as the Red Hat Academy in-charge of the college.

Mount Zion students utilize their semester breaks to take hands-on training in Open Source technologies

Students of Mount Zion College of Engineering, Kadammanitta, Pathanamthitta found their time for hands-on Red Hat training, during their semester breaks. As an encouragement to students, faculties also join along with them for this technology training in the campus. The globally recognised certifications provided under Red Hat Academy programme is a feather in their cap and it builds up their confidence level while attending campus interviews. The first batch of Sahrdaya grabs 100% pass rate in Red Hat Certification.

Red Hat Academy students of Sahrdaya College of Engineering & Technology, Kodakara, Thrissur has a good news to share. The first batch of Red Hat certification program at Sahrdaya campus grabbed their globally recognised certifications with 100% pass rate. By passing this hands-on, lab-based performance testing, these 20 students are now Red Hat Certified System Administrators (RHCSA) and are preparing to grab their next level certification (RHCE). Dr. Vince Paul, HOD, CSE provides the required guidance to students for their career enhancement through this Red Hat Academy program.
