Keep Track of Your Gains with Wearable Fitness Tech

Fitness tech makes keeping track of your health super easy and now, completely hands-free. When adorned, these pieces of fitness tech can improve your exercise routines and overall wellness. 2017 has brought a lot of new wearable technology options to consumers. Here are some of our favorites:

Fitbit Alta HR

If the Fitbit is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term “fitness tech,” you’re not alone. These days the fitness tracking wristband is ubiquitous. Everyone and their mother has one. Whether or not you’re already a fan of the Fitbit, their new Alta HR model is worth checking out. It features a much slimmer design that isn’t limited to tracking your daily exercise. The Fitbit Alta HR focuses on measuring and improving sleep by analyzing your Heart Rate to estimate the time you spend in light, deep, and REM cycle every night. By monitoring and culling this data, their new Sleep Insight feature is able to provide you with feedback and customized advice on how to better your sleep habits and improve the quality of your nightly rest.

Under Armour Sport Wireless Heart Rate

The popular fitness apparel brand Under Armour partnered with audio experts JBL to bring you a powerful set of workout friendly headphones. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill Bluetooth in-ear headphones. Under Armour takes it up a notch. Their headphones feature a built-in heart rate monitor so you can expertly track your heart rate throughout your workout. Plus, they connect with UA’s Record app that allows you to track your workouts in detail. You can even enable audio updates for pace, distance, and heart rate zones so you can improve your gym sessions with every visit.

Coros LINX Smart Cycling Helmet

If you’re an avid cyclist, a smart helmet could be worth the investment. Coros’ LINX model connects you to your smartphone without pesky wires and headphones getting in the way. You can easily listen to music, talk on the phone, and hear navigation data throughout your ride, thanks to their open-ear Bone Conduction Technology and wind-resistant microphone. Plus, it tracks your mileage and even has built-in collision detection. If it senses you’ve been in an accident, the smart helmet automatically sends your emergency contact a message to alert them.

Lumo Run

All the crazy runners out there, consider the Lumo Run for your next fitness tech purchase. It’s a sensor that you clip onto the back of your running shorts or leggings. The Lumo Run pairs with your iPhone to provide you audio feedback on pace, distance, and navigation and gives you a full, in-depth analysis along with personalized exercise recommendations upon completion of your run. It tracks your steps per minute, changes in velocity, vertical oscillation, pelvic rotation, and pelvic drop to improve your running form. The Lumo Run is a must-have for any serious runner.
