  • Network Name (also known as “SSID” or “ESSID”)
  • Network Key (also known as “Password”, “Security Key”, or “Encryption Key”)

1. Connect the Brother printer to Your Wireless Network

To connect the Brother Printer to the wireless network, you will need to temporarily use a computer. (You will not need the computer for your normal Check-In flow.) Click on the appropriate link below.

Troubleshooting

I can’t see my Brother printer in the list.

Typically when the printer cannot be found it either needs to be turned on or the printer and device are not on the same wireless network.

We use multiple Brother printers. How can I tell which one is which?

You can change the Printer Name so that you can know which printer you are using. Here are the steps.

  1. Make sure both devices are on the same network & have the latest updates.
  2. On the printer, press and hold the Cut button until the configuration labels start to print (there will be a few).
  3. The 6th label should have the IP address on it.
  4. Type those #’s along with the dots (periods) into the web browser of the iPad or device you are using & press enter (this will bring you to a “Status” page).
  5. Click Protocol on the left side of the screen.
  6. Look for Airprint and click advanced settings option.
  7. In the Printer Name box, you can delete what is there and type in whatever name you want.
  8. Click Submit and this will be the name of the printer you will see in the Check-In App.

Why do my labels print painfully slow?

The print speed is determined by the labels you have in the printer. Technically, it is determined by the label stand and the holes on the bottom of the stand. Make sure to use DK-2205 labels, with the correct stand.

How do I print a Configuration Label?

For the 820 model:

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Select Menu.
  3. Select Information.
  4. Select Print Configuration.
  5. Select All and the configuration labels should begin printing.

For the 710, 720, and 810 models:

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. On the printer, press and hold the Cut button until the configuration labels start to print (there will be a few).
