Xiaomi Mi A2 September 2018 Update Rolling Out

Xiaomi Mi A2 has started receiving a new firmware update based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The update comes with September 2018 security update (patch) and few other improvements.

The Mi A2 was launched alongside Mi A2 Lite in July in China and in India, only Mi A2 was launched. It is based on the Android One program which ensures the latest software updates. It’s a mid-range smartphone that comes with decent specs.

The September update is based on Android 8.1 Oreo so it’ll not bring any change to your device OS version, but don’t neglect it because it comes with a security patch which fixes serious vulnerabilities.

Specifications of Xiaomi Mi A2

The Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and sports a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and will be available in 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage options.

At the rear, you’ll find a 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup and a 20-megapixel sensor for selfies on the front with artificial intelligence (AI). The smartphone is fueled with a 3010mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 for fast-charging support.

The new update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA) so it might take some time to reach your device. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings –> System –> System Update —> Tap on the Check for Update option.
