Install Pixel Experience Based on Android Pie on Redmi Note 3

The Redmi Note 3 was launched in 2015 and now it’s quite old to receive the Android Pie update. But you can install the Pixel Experience on Redmi Note 3 based on Android 9.0 Pie.

We don’t know whether the Android Pie update will be released for Redmi Note 3 because right now it’s not in the list of compatible devices.

Xiaomi is already working on Android 9.0 Pie update for Redmi Mi MIX 2S, and right now Redmi Note 3/Note 3 Pro is not in the list of Android Pie update. But you can now enjoy the latest Android 9.0 Pie on the Redmi Note 3 with Pixel Experience.

Soon after the launch, the Android Pie update was available on Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3/Pixel 3 XL and on the Essential Phone. HMD Global on its Nokia 7 Plus announced the arrival of Android Pie beta 4.

After Google’s announcement of the Android Pie, the update is now available for the Redmi Note 3 owners via Pixel Experience. Thanks to XDA Members working and bringing latest software to smartphones.

The same ROM will work on both smartphones and this is the first release of Pixel Experience based on Android 9.0 ROM for the Note 3 so you might come across some bugs.

Android 9.0 Pie Pixel Experience ROM for Redmi Note 3

As mentioned above, right now there is no word from the company whether/when the update for the Note 3 will be released. However, if you want to enjoy Android 9.0 Pie features on Note 3 then you can do this by using the custom ROM called Pixel Experience.

It comes with stock Google Pixel experience by offering Pixel launcher, wallpapers, boot animation, fonts, icons, sounds, Pixel’s blue accent and more. Please note that it’s a custom ROM and needs to be installed manually which requires some technical knowledge such as unlocking bootloader, etc.

So make sure you know what you are doing before installing this ROM. There are some features working and some not. Before you proceed you must know what is working and what is not.

  • Wifi
  • RIL
  • Mobile data
  • GPS
