PCB Decides To Hold Only 8 Matches In Pakistan

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced last year that Pakistan Super League (PSL) 4 will be held in Pakistan. However, according to the latest development, only eight games are scheduled to be played in the cricket-deprived country.

The reason behind the change of decision is that PSL franchisees were not happy with the idea of keeping all Matches in Pakistan. Initially it was reported that Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates this year and January 2019 hold their own league in Emirates between Septemeber. The idea was omitted, however, so PCB and PSL franchises decided to bring the matches back to the UAE.

The other reason cited for reversing the decision is the dubious law and order of the country. As is known, PCB believes that the legal and order situation is not viable enough to hold all 34 matches in Pakistan.

All franchisees had complete confidence in the PCB's attempts to bring more PSL matches to Pakistan. It was decided that at least eight matches would be held in Pakistan next year.

The franchises also proposed to build a hotel with 200 rooms in the Gaddafi Stadium for better management and improved security measures. The idea was forwarded to a committee that will study its feasibility.

No Pakistani players in league of the UAE

PCB also decided to banish the players from the increasingly popular T20 leagues in the UAE. The board has announced that players can play in such competitions under contract. However, it made an exception for the T10 competition. The explanation was:

The Board expressed its concern about a newly announced T20 competition taking place in the UAE. It has been decided that the PCB will not allow any contracted player to participate in a T20 competition taking place in the United Arab Emirates, with the exception of the Pakistan Super League [PSL].

Mickey Arthur will be the decision maker on which players can play in the T10 competition.
