The electricity complex
According to Shaukat Qureshi – Chief Operating Officer of Rahmat Group – the Group has already acquired 25 hectares of land for the complex. The complex starts with the production of electric / battery-powered buses. The company will therefore enter the two-wheeler electric market as soon as it progresses.
According to the reports, Rahmat Group will work with two Chinese manufacturers to realize its plans. The COO has added:
All arrangements are coordinated with the partners concerning plants, machines and equipment. Immediate production under SKD would be followed by CKD according to the localization policy of Auto Policy 2016-2021. However, prior to introduction, the immediate input of the desired units would be performed within 3-4 months.
The company also plans to develop lithium batteries for buses, automobiles and two-wheelers.
The group expects to devise a model within the first 4-6 months after the start of the company. The Rahmat Group has signed two agreements with two different Chinese companies. One company will handle the production of electric cars, while the other assembles electric vans, trucks, etc.
The government recently reduced taxes on electric vehicles and Rahmat Group plans to take the lead in making the best of it.
