New Zealand Has Agreed To Play In Pakistan In Theory

The President of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) once again hinted that New Zealand can travel through Pakistan sometime later this year.

In an interview, Najam Sethi said that management in New Zealand had already agreed in theory, but that no one had put a pen on paper

.

New Zealand has in theory said yes, they will consider our request, provided we think the security is in order. If that is the case, they may play one or two games in Pakistan.

After the terrorist incident in 2009, Pakistan waited almost 9 years for the return of cricket to home country and this can be a huge breakthrough.

Sethi has added:

If we can get New Zealand to play, then I believe we have a good case to make with Australia who could follow the heels of their neighbors.

If both Australia and New Zealand are going to play one or two games in Pakistan, then by the time it is time for our homegrown with England, we can convince them to play in Pakistan.

If Pakistan can deal with a series against big teams and ensure that normality is restored, then other international players will finally not hesitate to play in Pakistan in the final tournaments of Pakistan Super League (PSL) – or hopefully, all PSL in Pakistan.

Sethi claimed that 5 years were his timeline and more than a year on the road, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, World XI and West Indies have already visited Pakistan, not to mention the international PSL players. He added:

So you can almost say that most of the world's top players, except for some notable exceptions, have already played a few games in Pakistan and my feeling is that this trend will continue.
