During the Computex event in Taiwan, Intel announced the imminent arrival of its 28-core chip, which would be in the spotlight before the end of this year. The number of wire is kept under the covers, but in view of the rule of thumb, it can very well exceed 50.
Core i9 vs AMD Threadripper
So far, Intel has so far only announced an 18-core Core i9-7980XE chip, with AMD following its own top-of-the-line 16-core Threadripper 1950X chip, which means the forthcoming chip Intel will be in a great position for disrupting the market.
The details are small at this point, but the chip will work at 5 GHz. Intel SVP Gregory Bryant also showed Cinebench benchmarks for the processor, clocking in at 7334, something that is usually seen on multiprocessor systems, instead of a system with one socket
Price estimate
Price information is not known now, since the Coire i9-7980XE costs $ 1999 in retail, it is probably safe to assume that the new chip could cost a lot more.
Finally, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its inceptive x86 processor and the 50th anniversary of its birth, Intel launches a new Core i7-8086K chip, which will also boost to 5 GHz, unlike in a total of 6 cores and 12 wires. The price of this chip has not yet been announced, but it is shipped from today.
