That was the case with the Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S phones from Xiaomi, who both used the same camera units even though they recorded different DxOMark scores. In the benchmark test used as an industry standard, the previous phone achieved a score of 105 in still images, while the latter earned only 101
The main difference was how the Mi 8 dealt with low light scenarios, in addition to the better optical zoom.
This puts the phone in second place on the DxOMark list, behind the Huawei P20 Pro, HTC U12 +, Huawei P20 and Samsung S9 Plus, which is obviously a lot of praise.
Upcoming camera plaster
Now, Lei Jun, the founder and CEO of the company, announces that a software package ensures that both cameras achieve the same level of performance. The patch is expected to hit users' phones in the coming days.

Both the Mi 8 and Mi Mix 2S are supplied with comparable Sony IMX363 sensors on the back, with two 12 MP lenses and a diaphragm of f / 1.8 and f / 2.4 on the two lenses. The pixel size is only 1.4 microns, supports up to 2x optical zoom and has a two-color LED flash on the phone.
At the front of the video, the cameras are capable of recording 4K video at 60 frames per second, as well as slow motion 1080p at 240 fps. It is safe to conclude that the camera has potential as it looks now.
