Honor Reveals 9i With GPU Turbo, Dual Cameras and More

In addition to the high-end Honor Play, Honor also released a mid-range phone: the 9i 2018.

Honor 9i was released last year, which was a rebranding version of the Huawei Mate 10 Lite. The 2018 variant has been slightly updated with gamercentric functions such as the GPU Turbo.

Design and representation


9i has a notch, 19: 9 aspect ratio, Full HD + (1080 x 2280) resolution screen, on a screen size of 5.84 inches. It has a glass back with a metal frame on the sides and looks generic from the back.

As mentioned earlier, Honor 9i also has GPU Turbo technology, which increases the graphics performance and improves efficiency while at the same time being battery friendly. There is a clear increase in framerates for games and responsiveness for the operating system.

Internals and storage

Powering the Honor 9i is an old and used Kirin 659 SoC with 4 GB RAM and 64/128 GB internal storage. Fortunately, storage is expandable via a hybrid microSD / SIM card slot, so you will not have a problem with the 64 GB version.

It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI.

Camera

At the back, the 9i has a 13 + 2 MP setup with an LED flash and a PDAF. At the front is a single 16 MP bolt.

Now Huawei big on AI, you also expect face unlocking and other functions of the camera at the front.

Battery and price

Honor 9i is powered by a 3000 mAh battery and needs to be charged quickly.

The phone is provisionally only available in China in the color options Charm Blue, Dream Purple, Jasper and Magic Night Black.

It costs CNY 1400 (~ Rs. 25,000) for the 64 GB variant and CNY 1700 (~ Rs. 30,700) for the 128 GB model
