Hey Newly Married Couples, Here’s A Quick Guide To Planning Your Perfect Honeymoon

Your honeymoon is supposed to be a soft, romantic journey for you and your partner when you go into the sunset. However, more often than not, it crumbles in an exhausting race from one tourist attraction to another, and your newly found marital bliss turns into grumpy bickering about stupid problems.

Here are 17 steps to make you get happy-ever-after:

1. Investigation is the key

Read it online so a lot if you can. Tripadvisor is your best friend. Also take a look at video's that people from different locations have created to help you get a real feel for the place you're considering.

2. Choose a place that has both a feel for the city and for the countryside

You do not want to end up somewhere where you can not relax, or alternatively you can see another living person miles away. You will only want to Spend some relaxing time, but you will also look for local culture.

3. Do not book a hotel for the entire period, so you can decide when you actually have it experienced

Sometimes when you book online, you notice that the hotel is too far away from the city center or the beach, or it's just … not the norm that it looked online. If you can handle the risk of not being able to book in your desired hotel, it is not a bad idea to book only the first few days, and then decide, once you are there, if you want to stay or move to a other place.

4. Do not plan too many activities, go along with the stream

You want to use this time to relax and not to run around to check everything on a task list. You probably have enough of that during your wedding preparations. And believe us, you will not wake up in time in the morning and the stress of missing a tourist location will just ruin your day. It's a much better idea to have a very short must-do list and wander around the rest of the time and actually see what's on offer and do what you want, when you're there feel like it.

5. Do not waste money shopping

Please. Just do not do it. Spend it on activities such as diving, or a jungle tour, but do not give it to shoes and clothing. The memories that you make will be longer than anything you could buy.

6. Friend of the local population

One of the best ways to learn more about a place is to simply talk to people. Whether it is the co-holidaymakers or the local population, a friendly chat along the way gives you more information about things to do and places to see than any website you could give.

7. Spend your first day only on building the land

Keep your first day free of any plans. It should be just to walk around the area / to drive around and map it. You can mark places or activities that you would like to do in the coming days, but always after you've scouted something. Tariffs for activities vary enormously between different tour operators, so look around before you decide.

8. Make sure you know how much you have to pay for things like taxi rides and whether you must give tip

They know that you are tourists, and everyone will try to take advantage of it. Make sure you ask at your hotel desk how much you have to pay for taxis because they are notorious because they are too expensive for all hotspots for honeymoons. Or even better, apply for an international driving license before you leave and drive alone!

9. Do not take too much stuff

Nothing kills romance faster than heavy to carry suitcases. Take the absolute minimum! You will not eventually make all those outfit changes that you had already planned.

10. Keeping snacks

Take a package of mini chocolates for sudden feelings of hunger when you are on the road. It is too early for you two to see each other at the worst moment.

11. Do not take photos or upload them to a cloud storage

You can be present in the moment, or you can obsess that you have everything on the camera. You will only end up with a file on your computer full of photos that you will never look at again. We promise you will never look at it. And by the way, are not you tired of posing on your wedding shoot?

12. Do a lot of activities and experience new things

Nothing brings two people each other as joint experiences. The purpose of a honeymoon is to bring your two good bonding times together, and the best way to do it is to do something together.

13. Never miss the breakfast buffet

DO NOT MISS THE BREAKFAST BUFFET MORE . They are usually included in most hotel bookings, but unfortunately around 11 am. Which means you have to get out of bed earlier, but it also means that you can spend an hour or two to work through a luxurious breakfast. And, tip for a honeymoon on a budget, you can usually do it with a light lunch afterwards, and then spend on a fancy dinner instead.

14. Hold a rucksack

Pick them up with a card, water bottles , sunscreen, wipes and snacks.

We're looking at you here both on. Seriously, focus on having a good time. You have probably dressed up in the past month, try to soften it for a week!

16. Go offline

Snapchat and Insta and Facebook can all do without you a week of survival, and our confidence, you too. They will still be there when you get home, but you will not get this time back.

17. Try the local kitchens

Please do not look for the nearest one Indian restaurant. Or McDonalds. You are in a different country, go ahead and try their local dishes! Many places have halal and vegetarian options.
