Stages of information Processing Cycle and explanation of the stages

Basically information processing cycle passes through four main stages. They are:
1. Input Stage: Before data can be processed into useful information, the required data must be put in an information system. the stage in which data is put into the computer is called input stage. Putting raw fact into information system is termed as input data. Devices that are used to issue command into the computer is called input device. Eg. of input devices are: the mouse, keyboard, scanner, etc.

2. Processing stage: This is the stage in which the data is being manipulated or organized by a computer to produce a meaningful output. The Central Processing unit CPU commonly refer to as processor found in the system unit is a device used to process data. The CPU serve as the brain of a computer.

3. Output Stage: This is a stage in which the outcomes of the processed data is presented by the computer. it could be in the form of soft copy or hard copy. The devices are:  Video Screen, monitor, printer, cd readers etc

4. Storage Stage: This is the stage in which the information is stored for future use. The devices used to store information are: hard disk. diskette, pendrives cd  etc
