Razer Man O’ War-best wireless gaming headset’s review

razer wireless headset has been a dominant force in the peripheral market the last few years with incredible products, from gaming mice to gaming laptops. Razer Man O War headset’s first move into high-quality wireless audio lives up to the impeccable standard for quality that has been set by them for the last few years.
Clocking in at an average of $150, this Razer headset is a good mid-range option for those who don’t want to break the bank but want the highest-tier in audio quality. One of the primary concerns of Razer gaming headset was nailing the feeling of comfort. It can be used for quite some time without feeling uncomfortable or unnatural. The battery length was primo, meaning it didn’t have to be plugged in much after the initial charging. The Man O’ War is designed with long life in mind, lasting up to 20 hours!
It also comes with a design that eschews the heavy clunking headsets of yesterday, for a lighter more user-friendly weight.
The downsides? Many higher quality headsets have a fair bit of metal that gives a solid premium feel. This headset if basically made from plastic and doesn’t carry the feeling of some mainline headsets. With this is the worry that a misplaced headset might break a bit easier then one would like.
Also the Man O’ War Headset doesn’t offer full compatibility with Xbox One and scales down the 7.1 Surround sound to just stereo for PS4. This makes it remarkably similar to a pair of earbuds. This inconvenience is off-set by the fact that you can play without obnoxious wires, but it still is a glaring issue in buying a set of headphones. A lack of support for other consoles means that switching between devices may not only be a chore but be disruptive to your experience.

Pros:
  • Long battery life
  • LED Lighting
  • Works on Mac and PC flawlessly
  • High-Quality Microphone
  • The buttons on the ear cups are easy to reach
  • Mid-range price
  • Very comfortable
Cons:
  • Not compatible with Xbox
  • PS4 only offers Stereo support and Spectrum lighting
Favorite Feature: One of the hardest things about competitive gaming is keying in audio settings for the microphone. Often you must use several clunky interfaces to make sure that the volume is keyed in correctly. Razer wireless gaming headset came up with the obvious solution to this problem. They just simply added a secondary volume nob that directly changes the mic volume. No more getting caught in a terrible UI while trying to key in those settings. Now you can adjust the mic volume on the fly!

Quality. That’s what sets this headset apart. Clocking in at around $300-$330, the SteelSeries 800 is the aged Cognac of Wireless Gaming headsets. Basically, this is the top-tier headset that offers amazing features and incredible sound.
First, this steelseries wireless headset works flawlessly by delivering the highest quality audio imaginable. Little details that are lost in games due to low-quality audio pop and come to life. Fallout 4 feels rich and full of ambient noise. Mad Max hits with heavy bass making the raw power of the engine come alive. This wireless gaming headset is simply the best quality you can buy for a PC Gamer.
The battery life is not only rated to 20 hours per battery, when we tested them out it seemed impossible to find yourself powerless. Just charge them one at a time and you will rarely if ever run into power issues. And at that point, you can wire in.
Sometimes onboard sound cards aren’t up to snuff for PC gaming. This steelseries wireles headset does a great job with onboard sound simulation though, meaning that a trip to the computer store for a new Sound Card is not needed.
The design is not only aesthetically pleasing but makes this headset feel solid, like it won’t break from day to day use.
Other than price, it is really hard to find a huge flaw with this headset. Basically the pinnacle of wireless gaming headset design. While we didn’t personally experience any issues, the most commonly reported problem is just a general lack of customer service from SteelSeries. Still, that’s not a huge reason to ignore this incredible device of the audio gods.

Pros:
  • Best set of features
  • Sleek design
  • FANTASTIC Battery life
  • Highest quality audio
  • 7.1 Surround sound that lives up to the name of 7.1
  • Two POWERFUL batteries come with it!
Cons:
  • Price. But it still is great value for the price!
Favorite Feature: Universal support for devices. The SteelSeries Siberia 800 wireless gaming headset was specifically designed with an eye for compatibility. It works on not only current consoles and the PC, but a multitude of devices, from older systems to tablets and phones. Normally a headset this versatile makes huge sacrifices in audio performance to achieve that level of flexibility. The Siberia instead opts to allow high-quality audio performance regardless of the device it is in.

Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930-best gaming headset under 100

logitech wireless  headset g930’s review

The last few years, Logitech has debatably been the leader in PC Peripherals, offering some of the greatest options for gaming mice, mechanical keyboards, and more. In the realm of Audio, they have a diverse options set that caters to numerous Audio needs while being one of the most completely priced top-tier headsets around.
As far as budget PC gaming headsets go, this is probably the best mic you can get at a price-point below $90. It’s comfortable, incredible sound, (7.1 at that price is a fantastic deal!) and includes a mic and some nifty features. The buttons on the side offer some convenient options for media and overall this headset is a gem in an industry that is full of competition. Logitech wireless gaming headset g930 is specifically designed for PC so its not meant for other devices. Trying it on a PS4 and Xbox one is not only a risk endeavor, it nullifies the specific 2.4 GHz wireless USB that is designed to eliminate user lag. This isn’t recommended for cross-platform compatibility.
7.1 Surround sound at one of the cheapest price points possible. A noise-cancelling microphone. 10 hours of battery life. It’s a solid choice albeit has flaws. One of the unique design decisions was the manual mute. Instead of pressing a button to mute, you can rotate the mic out of the way for an automatic mute. It also has a memory foam headband that is extremely comfortable. A single USB connection required to charge and can be charged while in use. Dedicated 2.4GHz Wireless adaptor for lag-free blazing fast audio speed meaning no missed moments or delayed sounds.
The biggest downside is that this is basically a PC only headset. As Logitech is known for its PC products, the logitech wireless gaming headset G930 uses special software that enables amazing audio quality, but this is not supported on Mac, Linux, and some earlier Windows operating systems (Honestly though, who uses XP anymore?!?). On top of this, it won’t work well or even at all with many other media devices. This sort of nullifies the appeal for those who are not in the PC ecosystem. Still for the price, it’s the best value you can get with a headset under $90!

Pros:
  • Great price for an entry level gaming headset
  • 7.1 Surround sound
  • USB Charging base
  • Cushioned ear pads are comfortable and also filter out noise
  • Programmable keys to change settings on the fly
Cons:
  • Short battery life, while 10 hours is a long-time, this pales when compared to other headsets that last 14-20 hours
  • Looks less sleek than most models
  • Designed only for PC Gaming
Favorite Feature: If price was a feature, that would surely be our favorite. Clocking in at under $100 and yet still an incredible level of quality and versatility. Although this is our favorite feature, it is a bit unfair to leave it at that! Logitech also has neat noise-canceling mic that makes the audio quality excellent. So good in fact, this doubles as a great headset for business and Skype interaction (Meaning your Discord talks will be buttery smooth!).

Corsair Gaming H2100 Gaming headset’s review

Wireless freedom up to 40 feet! The Corsair Gaming headset H2100 is a lightweight wireless version of the beloved H1500. Using a 2.4Ghz signal, as is the standard for wireless gaming headsets, this headset
First of all, like most headsets that are coming out today, this headset touts 7.1 surround sound. In our experience, this was one of the weaker features of the H2100. It’s not terrible, but it doesn’t sound as incredible as the simulated surround sound you can get with powerful audio software. Rather the headset sounds a little bit closer to surround sound/stereo depending on the game and circumstance. Toing the line with stereo is a scary proposition for a headset but this is a solid headset for those on a budget.
One of the more unique features of corsair gaming wireless headset is the great range, at 30 feet you can still use them. This isn’t necessarily a big deal (Who plays that far from the console?!?) but is excellent for some house set-ups such as using a Steam Box, where you want high-quality sound, no lag, and maximum distance but your PC is far from you.
On the flipside, this budget model is PC only. Meaning that you can still connect it to a console but it may not work, or may sound relatively similar to ear buds in audio quality. We recommend looking into the competitor from Logitech (The 930) and comparing features as they are similar enough that they are in the same price range but differ on some minor important features.

Pros:
  • Very low-cost
  • Incredible distance for set-ups that are far from devices
  • Sometimes good 7.1 Surround sound.
  • cheap gaming headset you can find for this quality level.
Cons:
  • 7.1 Surround sound isn’t the highest quality
  • 10 hour battery life is shorter than higher priced models
  • Plastic design makes it feel a little cheaper and more breakable then some models
Favorite Feature: To mute the mic, you simply flip the boom up. No more fiddling with switches in the dark or going into some sort of computer settings!

Why Gaming Headphones?

good headphones for gaming are a bit different from the headphones you will find for blasting music with heavy bass and quick beats. Gaming wireless headset, predictably, are designed with gaming in mind. This means they cater to features that the gamer cares about but the high-definition audio user may or may not consider. Top-notch audio quality is a basic tenet of the modern wireless headset. On top of audio quality, talking with your squad in Discord of over Xbox Live is a CRITICAL part of multiplayer gaming. A terrible mic makes the experience at best a frustrating slog. Yet a high-quality mic? Nothing is more satisfying than coordinating a small squad in games like Playerunknown’s: Battlegrounds and outwitting over 90 other players through strategic teamwork and communication. The gaming mic is just as important as the headphones for many gamers. Gaming headsets just work. They know what those who care about all things gaming want and have unique features that cater to the gaming market.

Firstly, wireless gaming headset are often designed with long-term intense comfort in mind. Listening to music for long periods of time with most cheap headphones is fine for most people, but an intense mental session of gaming that can last 4 or more hours requires a higher level of sustained comfort. This means most gaming headsets are heavily padded and offer unapparelled comfort when gaming.

Secondly, best wireless gaming headset (Really any decent one!) come with a high-quality microphone that allows you to communicate with friends and troll opponents. One of the most obnoxious noises is audio feedback from a bad mic. When playing with speakers, the constant echo of dying conversations is often sent into the mic and spewed out later. Some wireless gaming headsets have begun to offer deeper, richer features for making

Another feature is software! While this is mostly for the PC audience, it is an important feature of high quality Headphones. Software allows the headphones to simulate some of the most complex immersive audio experiences imaginable. Using advanced technology, a good set of gaming headphones can simulate location based noise. This means you can hear the footsteps of an approaching soldier from far away. You can hear the slight hum of a fading radio as you exit a vehicle. The immersion is far more incredible when using a gaming headset!

How do I pick one if there are so many options?!?!?

Picking the best wireless gaming headset 2017 is not the easiest decision. It requires a little bit of research and prep work. Fortunately, there are a couple factors to consider that make picking a headset a lot simpler.

How much do I want to spend?

Much like anything in life, you can ALWAYS find something a little bit better. Some headphones come with bizarre and elaborate add-ons like gold finishes and mahogany wood. First you need to decide on your budget. The good news is that within the $100-$300 range, there are a ton of high-quality options. You can always spend more than that, but it really isn’t that necessary. Still some will want to go the extra mile and get premium quality headphones. Realistically the audio fidelity is incredible though at this price point regardless of what headset you are buying. Budget is often the most significant factor for people deciding between different headsets.

What System?

Compatibility is a key requirement to picking a gaming headset. Despite being designed for gaming, headsets aren’t always compatible between multiple devices and operating systems. This may seem counter-intuitive but it’s because headsets usually install proprietary software that was created with an intended platform in mind. This means some of the best headsets are not necessarily able to work on all systems without an adaptor or they may lose some valuable features when used on a different platform. This is yet one more reason a little bit of research goes a long way! Often higher tier headphones are cross-compatible with all gaming platforms or strip down features to work on systems with difficult cross-compatibility. The first step in picking a headset though is picking your platform to game on. Picking a platform helps you pick headphones that fit your needs.

Gaming on PC is a serious endeavor. A wireless headset for pc tends to gravitate toward the best quality, often reaching the extremes of current technology and pushing boundaries in both graphical and Audio quality. The PC gaming audience is also HIGHLY competitive. In competitive gaming, depth of sound can mean the difference between hearing an opponent and getting the jump on him and feeling lost and out of control. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to sneak up on an opponent who hears every move with 360 degree directional sound!
The PlayStation is a beloved favorite of those who adore strong-story based games. With series like Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Horizon Zero Dawn. One of the under looked qualities of these recent gems is the phenomenal sound work, both environmentally and in regards to game music. Although the PS4 has great multiplayer titles, gaming headset for ps4’s sound quality usually takes priority over mic quality.
With strong First-Person Shooting games like Halo dominating the Xbox, competitive gaming is a key aspect of picking the right sound equipment. With the right headphones, you will be able to hear every bullet whizz by and get the jump on the ol’ covenant as well as communicate with your squad. wireless xbox one headset, much like PC’s gaming headset, requires a balanced headset that allows you to speak clearly over voice chat but doesn’t sacrifice the high fidelity audio that is needed for hearing sneaky players stumble about. 3
