Without further ado, it’s time to sink our teeth into this list:
10.Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming-Best for:Light Gaming (Lower-Res Is Recommended)
Core gamers should continue scrolling; you’re getting an introduction to the fabulous world of gaming laptops. You’re not going to need to lug around anything overly heavy here; about six pounds. This laptop has a pretty good build about it, not really lacking in the strength of its exterior. What I’m saying is: if you drop it from a low height, it won’t shatter like glass.
You can let that specs list speak for itself, or, you can listen to me being super picky about little tidbits that wouldn’t matter to most. I’m a gamer; it’s a curse, but I require perfection from my machines. With this Dell model, you can find a multitude of different options available for features in the build. They offer a higher-tier model, but for this review, we’ve gone and tested their base, or stock model, for this brand of laptops.
You can’t help but notice the beaming red backlit keyboard. Gaming at night is always better with the lights off; the Inspiron will illuminate your face and assist in immersing you into whatever you’re playing. The keyboard comes in a full-size (numpad includes) and offers a louder-than-average clicking sound when you tap the keys. A feature that I personally prefer, but I know most like a quiet keyboard.
Some users have reported issues with the trackpad. When I tested this model out, I didn’t notice anything particular about it; fairly standard trackpad.
The battery life doesn’t scream out quality. It’s what you’d expect to get in a laptop of this price.
The display, I’ll be honest, isn’t the best. With a good graphics card and crummy display, it’s like putting premium gasoline into a junkyard car. This is the weakest point of this laptop.

9.Origin EON17-X-Best For Intermediate Gaming & MMORPG’
Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the way the whole laptop felt while I was using it, but that comes down to strict personal preference. The specs on this gorgeous machine speak for themselves, and did so with alarm results as I tested this bad boy out. With retina-blazing 4K quality, you’re immediately immersed in this laptop and eager to see what it can do.
Sound that spills directly from the EON is phenomenal. With a split speaker bar, this machine fills the room with beautiful high-quality sound, encasing you in a proverbial cloud of effects. It’s truly dazzling.
I’m going to touch on the touchpad again; it’s garbage. I feel as though it’s not the most difficult thing in the world to ensure that the device you use to actually navigate the machine has a stable level of quality about it. It’s the same as putting a rusty lock on a new door; it doesn’t make sense. Your access to luxury should, in and of itself, be a little bit luxurious.
The physical build of this device did leave us wanting something more. For nearly nine pounds, you’d expect it to be made more of metal than plastic. It’s a shoddy build, truth be told, but it deceiving. It holds a truly powerful machine inside. Whether you’re a fan of client-based or browser-based RPG’s, you’re going to experience a remarkable time using the Origin EON.

8.Lenovo Legion Y520-Best For Intermediate Gaming
Can we get a hallelujah for backlit keyboards? I don’t know why they took so long to catch on; they’re one of the best things in the computer world. I use a desktop computer with a USB mouse and keyboard (I’m old; I get it,) both of which light up. Point being, whether you’re mobile with one of these stellar laptops or stationary, backlit is the way to go. In fact, it’s becoming a requirement for anyone to stay in the competitors running.
It has far more to offer than flashy (quite literally) features. When you really get into it, one of the biggest issues with laptops tends to be ventilation: the power packs get hot as coal, and built-in fan systems seldom work as described. With the Lenovo Legion, the entire system has been thermally engineered to keep core sections of the machine cool. Strategically-placed fans have taken out the guesswork at keeping your machines cool.
You’ll enjoy the sound quality for sure – Harman Audio with Dolby Premium delivers an excellent, crisp sound whether or not you have headphones plugged in. In terms of power, it’s not the strongest. In terms of quality, few will be able to compare.
The physical build is pretty good quality; nothing to complain about here.
These touchpads. Can I please release my eternal sigh about touchpads? While testing out this beast of a machine, I did notice it’s touchpad quality is definitely greater than that of others I’ve tested, however, that being said, my hand brushing the pad has still provided some issues. All I’m asking for is a touchpad that can detect too much of the surface area is being used, and not actually move. If it’s bigger than the tip of a finger, don’t let it go.

7.Gigabyte Aero 14 – Best For Light Gaming
Testing this was an absolute pleasure. I witnessed this model in three colors; black, lime green, and hazard orange. Quite a funky mix. The physical build of the Aero 14 is, however, one point that I have to give a black mark to right out of the gate. With any laptop, especially one you’re paying over a thousand dollars for, you should absolutely expect aluminum-based frames at the very least. I’m always willing to pay more for a solid-body computer. The plastic feels soft and cheap, like a bargain bin toy.
The resolution on this, while not 4K, is superb. I personally played Rise of the Tomb Raider—a very detail-oriented game with multiple levels of light and dark, and this screen held up to the test. If you’re big into games with loads of activity flashing on the screen, the Aero 14 won’t lag or dip in graphical quality.
I’m going to talk about touchpads again, because in case you have been able to tell by now, they’re one of my biggest pet peeves. This makes no exception to that rule. While effective when being used for its intended purpose, the touchpad on the Aero 14 is quick to assume you’re going to play with it, like a dog holding a chew toy in its mouth.

6. Razer Blade – Best For: High-Intensity Gaming
You’re looking at a premium line of gaming laptop here. We love just about everything regarding the Razer Blade, down to its solid construction and sleek design. Many grow tired of the sleek black aluminum chassis, but honestly, they do it in a way that you could never want for anything else. Their angular design is extremely appealing.
While we don’t have a lot of ports to work with here. (Part of why it landed number 6.) We do have immense gaming power with phenomenal sound. When you open this beast of a machine up, you’ll be taken aback by the sharp and bright display. With the all-black exterior, it has me playing games like Arkham Asylum making me feel like Batman.
They keyboard is backlit with a luminescent pale green, giving a different style than the blood red we see on mot backlit laptops designed for gamers. The touchpad comes in a little higher than most of those that I’ve tested, but is still rather touchy.

5. Acer Predator 15– Best For: High-Intensity Gaming VR READY
Acer rarely fails to disappoint. With a launch of a similar Predator model earlier in the year, they met that rare disappointment. They’re back with the all-new Acer Predator 15, and it packs a punch far beyond the means of its predecessor.
We’re going to start off on a confusing note—while the sleek design and triangular ventilation system in the rear are nice, downright innovative even, we don’t quite understand their angle behind the choice to blend two colors into the backlight feature. Apart from the fact that their backlighting power gets a huge thumbs down from our end, the righthand side of the keyboard (numpad area) is illuminated in blue, while the rest is in red. It’s really… peculiar.
I had the personal pleasure of toying with this laptop for 3+ hours during the test phase, and found it remarkably easy to get wrapped-up into. That being said, not everything was changed from the predecessor model. Things such as the warranty, audio, and connectivity options remain the same.

4. Asus ROG Overclocked Edition – Best For High-Intensity Gaming
We’re going to cover the negatives first before I delve into the power behind this 64GB beast. If you aggressively mash on your keys (sort of like I’m doing right now) then you’ll notice a decline in build quality on the keyboard of the Overclocked. The left and right sides dip a little when mashing, so if this is something of grave annoyance to you, weigh your options.
You’ll be able to store an ample amount of games on your 1.25TB of space. If you use Steam’s client, then you’re blissfully aware of how many games you’ve purchased may still be “Grayed out” meaning you having downloaded them yet. Get on that—your Overclocked will support all that, and more.
Through multiple internal testing, we’ve seen it rival nearly every laptop in its price and quality category on multiple platforms, including its ability to perform quickly on Photoshop and HandBrake, but that doesn’t put it out of the running. Our biggest applause has to go to the way they use these integrated graphics for a phenomenal gaming experience.

3. Alienware 13 R3
their way back with some of the best gaming laptops on the market today. Coming in at number 3, we have the Alienware 13 R3, a true marvel in gaming.
They’ve always incorporated their own technology into their devices, such as the Alienware specific camera we find on this laptop. They do a phenomenal job at the specs on the R3, however, storage is a major issue. With only 512GB in their standard model, it doesn’t make much room for downloading games. If you use a client like Steam, then you’ll be disappointed at the lack of purchases you’ll be able to set to the system.
Our connectivity and size meet the industry standard, of course, but what exceeds it is the screen resolution and never faltering speed while in game. You could be in the middle of anything and the Alienware R3 is going to have your back.

2. HP Omen 17– Best fot High Octane Fun
This was a difficult one for me, as I’ve been an HP enthusiast for years. They’re the only standard PC’s and laptops that I buy for myself, and when it comes to gaming laptops, they’ve broken into the market in recent years. Meet the Omen 17—your best value for high-end performance and attractive pricing. It offers better performance than most of its competitors, even those that climb the price tag by as much as $500.00!
4K Display; it’s one of the sharpest, most beautiful things in gaming, and the Omen’s got your back. Like many of HP’s laptops, it’s a wide build, but slim. One thing that HP did here that I’m not a fan of is create the chassis out of plastic; there’s almost no aluminum in here at all, which makes it feel cheap until you actually run a game on the thing. Definitely not the most attractive exterior quality, but what’s under the hood definitely makes up for it.
Framed flat keys—as is standard with most laptops nowadays—make for comfortable and familiar typing and hotkey commands when in game. The red backlighting is almost eerie; a blood red that’s definitely flashy and illuminates your face during those 3AM dungeon raiding sessions.

1. Razer Blade Pro-Best For Gaming and Everything In Between
Our top of the list winner! A seriously different, and better Razer brand gaming laptop computer. This bad boy spares absolutely no details, and that’s why it’s earned our top spot. It leaves all competition in the dust with these phenomenal featuers.
More often than not, I hear the same script: “I want a gaming laptop, but they’re never as powerful as desktops.” Well, with the Blade Pro, that fact can be laid to rest. It packs the power of some of your highest-grade desktop towers without sacrificing size and weight along with it. In this aluminum chassis, you have all the space you’ll ever need with 2TB of HDD memory. Way more than enough ports to keep you plugged in for days.
If you want to go beyond gaming, you’ll dig this: it’s a touchscreen as well. It displays 100 percent of Adobe’s RGB gamut, making it not only a fantastic gaming center, but a perfect fit for photograph and video editing. Utilize the full-sized SD card slot for retrieving photos from your camera or smartphone with immense ease.
I’m all about backlights, and this doesn’t disappoint. Razer’s dynamic Chroma runs a multicolored display in a fabulous array. Above the touchpad, you’ll find a programmable dial, often used by buyers as a quicker means to adjust volume during gameplay.
Touchpad—we finally have a winner, folks. Out of every laptop on our list, the Razer Blade Pro takes the cake. With it’s gracious accuracy, it’s definitely our favorite—but of course, minus one detail. There are no separate sections for left and right mouse clicks, you simply push the entire touchpad down at once to enact a click. Definitely an oddity, so you will need a USB mouse to play most games on this.
We’re completely over prepared for VR here, people. Every requirement is met and exceeded by HTC Vive and Oculus Rift VR: we’re greenlit for virtual reality!
